We think about the matchup they get the Dolphins fortuitous with how banged up the Dolphins are or is Tyreek Hill and Mike McDaniel and aan and the crew uh more dangerous than Chief fans want to let on I will go with the former uh I don’t

See how the Dolphins come in here as beat up as they are and pose a significant threat to the Chiefs now the caveat here is the Chiefs if they play their C or D+ game can make it really interesting but you look at the roster you look at who they’ve lost especially on

Defense zaven Howard’s not playing this game uh van vink’s not playing this game Jerome Baker’s not playing this game Bradley chub’s out for the year Jaylen Phils they they they are basically relying on pass rushers who I think all of whom were playing for the Chiefs at

Some point within the past decade right Justin Houston Emanuel agba and uh Melvin Ingram so I I don’t like their odds on defense but they will get Jaylen wad back back they will have Raheem moer back ultimately this is the chance for the Chiefs to have a reset a really

Valuable reset it’s an opportunity for them to start a new and I would hope they would take advantage of the one guaranteed home game they have and and play well so I like their chances uh Melvin Ingram or the guy who ate Melvin Ingram one or the other I’m not sure

Which uh Eric uh your thoughts on on how this matchup is now that we know who they’re GNA play yeah I texted my one friend uh today that the Dolphins have like an Immaculate grid defense line you know like when you go to play that game and you’re like oh Justin Houston played

For the Dolphins and the and the Colts and Melvin Ingram played for the Dolphins and the Chiefs and and and that’s you know and you know the funny part about Sunday night right was the Dolphins obviously that game was close with the bills but they got their

Ass kicked in that game right like the bills kept the Dolphins in that game they they threw an interception in the end zone to Eli Apple they threw an interception on Fourth and two in field goal range they got tackled to the one yard line at the end of the first half

Josh Allen fumbled in the red zone right they got tackled on fourth and one you know to try to seal the game in that game on Sunday night the bills out gain the Dolphins uh 473 to 275 and somehow only won that game by seven the Dolphins are limping into the

Playoffs and then you get into it and you know the one thing that I do get worried about the Chiefs here the Dolphins are a top five team in the NFL and not so surrendering runs of 15 yards or more and in a game like Sunday where

Or sorry Saturday where it’s going to be cold the Chiefs aren’t going to be able to throw that well the Dolphins aren’t going to be able to throw that well it’s going to be a game of explo like who’s going to be able to run the football

Better and I do think the Dolphins could be able to be the team that runs the football better is the only way that I you know I could I could say that um because I do think schematically the Dolphins run defense is actually pretty

Good yeah um listen I I I think I think there are you know paths to a dolphins Victory but I think you hit upon it the only thing I would say is like you mentioned how the bills really should have pummeled the Dolphins the Chiefs make those kind of sloppy plays too

Right like why do think you know why do we think like it’s probably not a Mahomes pick in the end zone but you know a sack strip fumble sure yeah I mean all day like those have been that’s been a regularity for this team I mean I

That that’s where I think that you know if they play chis game I think they win they were headed towards a a solid victory in Miami you know up uh 21 nothing that game should have been over should have been done uh ends up being

2114 I I don’t know how much in doubt it was Chris Jones certainly aided that with a really poorly timed uh personal foul penalty but again sloppy football that’s what they do that’s who they are so I think they’re the better team but Jeff any reason to believe with I don’t

Know series of backups that you saw anything that makes you think that they’re sharp now or that hey this is the wakeup call they’ve been waiting for the the regular season’s boring and now it’s time to go because it’s postseason the Chiefs you’re talking about

Yes I don’t trust him you know it’s it’s hard to go 17 games or 16 games discounting last week and and feel like all of a sudden all the things that were wrong about them are going to get right ultimately this is going to come down to

How well Mahomes can play how how effective pcho can be can Rashid rice raise his game again can Travis Kelce uh you know go into the Fountain of Youth and find uh some plays that really turn the game it’s yeah it’s I I fully expect them to do something stupid

Like I don’t know what it’s going to be whether it’s going to be a key penalty and that takes a touchdown off the board or a big drop or a fumble but that’s going to come the question is how how do they overcome that so yeah I mean it’s

Like I always say people show you who they are you better believe them and what team has shown us is that they will be sloppy they will make mistakes and that’s not going to change when you start playing against better teams worst case scenario is you get the game they

Played against the Raiders a couple weeks ago when it’s just a comedy of errors and because they did that they’re fully capable of doing it again yeah I saw and I’m looking for it here Eric the 48 degrees into a thing which is they say he’s never played a game below 48

Degrees I maybe that’s true I know he’s never won a game below like 48 or 46 degrees Yeah they were in Buffalo last year but he didn’t play Skyler Thompson played oh that’s right in the playoff game and and and by the way uh Mike McDaniel coached his ass off

In that playoff game they almost won the game yeah yeah they they were definitely in it for three plus quarters and it was kind of like that game it’s kind of like the the game we just watched between the Bills and Dolphins the way it was it’s

Like are the dolphins really going to steal this thing in the end no but uh coaching matters I think that’s one of the things like Mike McDaniels for real right like we can agree on that that he’s going to have a game plan they’ll have some some gotta moments do do we

Really think that you know Tyreek Hill is gonna go eight for 62 well I mean he’s got a hip and a knee right like he’s got some issues Waddles hurt uh you know mostard is kind of I mean anan’s the best running back on the I I like

You know Peko a lot but anan’s the best running back that’s going to be on the field I mean there yeah I mean yeah there there’s a reason it’s only a four-point spread right I mean the the funny part is the total right 44 I know it’s weather

Induced but imagine in the preseason saying the the total on a dolphins Chiefs playoff game would be in the low in the mid to low 40s yeah with these two offenses no I I agree I mean is this a good or bad matchup like the way I mean not just the

Injuries style of play like was 21 nothing indicative like and I mean not not a complete whitewashing but is this a bad matchup for the Dolphins right like do the Chiefs do the things that you know they don’t tolerate well Jeff I don’t I don’t know I don’t know because

I think back to that first game and that was really I guess the best opening drive that Chiefs have had all year right I mean I’m discounting like the Bears you know people like that who they were just clearly better than like that was they were crisp they were down the field they

Were making plays and now I feel like was that a mirage was that just you know uh one of those days where everything fell into place because I haven’t seen that kind of CPS since that point so I think they’re very similar in terms of

Um how they play and what they want to do I think the bigger concern is is one yeah how does weather affect special teams does bucker become less of a weapon if it’s really windy out you know cold days I mean he’s a really good kicker in all kinds of weather but if

It’s windy um or blustery how does that impact his field goal attempts that how does that impact punting and field position I mean all these things are going to matter more in a game like this so what Eric said is right I mean having aan available who didn’t play in that

First game is a huge thing for them and and I imagine having Jay W on the field is going to be a huge thing for them because he left that game pretty early and that affected their offense the first time around but that Miami’s only Avenue to to winning this game is really

Like being super explosive getting chunk plays and and really having the chats make mistakes yeah I mean Armstead missing practice today it hurts them their interior offensive line is really bad with ikenberg he’s bad he’s a he’s not a good football player Jones I mean the one thing that was interesting on

Sunday that I heard both within the building but also like just you know Sam McDow you know texting me like from the game is like that team was really really hyped up to see Chris Jones get that sack and that and that you know Chris Jones showed more effort in that game

Than he has all season long more excitement yeah does that continue right like does he like because like let’s be let’s be really honest like and this was everybody wanted to everybody wanted to to poooo this show for being honest about it but Chris Jones is a

Inconsistent effort guy right and he’s a great football player he’s a hollow you know he’s a you know Ring of Honor player and you know maybe a Hall of Famer like I maybe discussion right now more work to be done but he’s in the discussion he’s an

Inconsistent effort player he he was an inconsistent effort player he he’s and so does he is he 2021 playoffs Chris Jones or is he 2022 playoffs Chris Jones because if he’s 2022 playoffs Chris Jones he’s gonna eat the Miami Dolphins alive the interior of the offensive line

For the Dolphins is terrible that that’s a really good question um because I you know when it comes to the matchup in this game Jay Ramsey is going to shut down Travis Kelce Point Blank like that that is the m and so you know it’s

Whether or not Rashi rice can beat up on these Corners that are sanss xaven Howard I think he probably can and so that matchup it favors the Chiefs but it’s going to be a big Ri Rice game can he beat coverage on the outside and then

What Sans means yeah there Sans xaven Howard he’s not in the game but like anyway um yeah I mean like look s French for without yeah um yeah but like but has he given that much effort in the Run he hasn’t given effort in the Run game all year

Pro right but so that’s what I’m saying like like you know and he hasn’t given that much effort as a pass rusher all year boys and girl like that he hasn’t been that great this year uh I I would agree that it it’s not been a great year

And I I I think I think you saw one of the issues that comes with you know the the incentive bonuses right of course he’s he was sack hunting all year I mean he was trying to get his money back you know I’ll say this though the one most

Um I want to say professional but maybe adult but he he did say after the game you know yeah it was great to get it but I’m really just getting the money back I lost in my hold out he finally admitted you know when he first came back he gave

The speech like he got himself a raise because the numbers were gonna be no big deal he’ll go get those he got himself a raise he finally admitted reality of what things were right I I do think there’s something to be said for how much the team got excited right like

That I like that I do too this team it means they they they wanted to play for him they like him he’s one of the guys like like he may frustrate us watching the game when he loafs it but but they like playing with him I think that’s an

Encourage and and not only that but you think about what the scene was on the sideline on Christmas Day and then you also see kind of how it was and you see it was a little bit better on New Year’s Day or New Year’s Eve whichever one that

Was and then like the morale on this team was Rock Bottom on Christmas day right and so at least you’re starting to see kind of like can this team really get it together for six weeks and win the Super Bowl you know what I’m saying and like there was at least a

Little bit of positivity there towards that aim because if you would have asked me that question on Christmas Day I would have said no like this team’s going to run I guess you know they could put together maybe one or two games but it doesn’t have what it takes to to win

The Super Bowl with this kind of effort and attitude but like when I got the you know when when I got that you know back when you know when I heard that you know the the sideline was really hype over Chris Jones getting that sack I was like

Maybe maybe there’s something to this right and and Patrick being you know very Patrick’s Patrick’s attitude towards this team is always A+ I think right but like the the rest of the team I think needs to match Patrick and like maybe they can and like you know I’m I’m

More optimistic today than I was last week I’ll just say that but don’t don’t you think that that had some of that Joy had to do with playing game that didn’t mean anything there there was no pressure involved like a drop or a fumble or anything that happened that

Was negative you could just blow it off ah whatever we’re already in the playoffs like I think that was as much a part of it as what how they responded in that moment I I agree I agree but that that’s that’s the I’ve heard the this

I’ve heard this said about the Chiefs a lot though like that’s the whole thing about the Chiefs anyway though like there isn’t like that was the breaking that was the break last year for the Chiefs right when no one expected them to win the Super Bowl because you know

They traded Tyreek Hill they weren’t the favorite going into the year it was like for the first time in a long time winning wasn’t expected you know for after they won in 19 like every win was a relief right when they beat the Browns in 2020 that the playoffs in 2020 it was

Like an exhale it was like we were expected to go to the Super Bowl it wasn’t even fun to win it was sort of expected every you know like maybe now is the three seed maybe it’s fun to be kind of an underdog they’re not favored right they’re not favored to win the

Super Bowl like maybe now it’s more an enjoyable thing where they can be the hunter finally again right like they were in 2019 as opposed to uh you know kind of the hunted as they have been in recent years like maybe again I’m I’m just like looking at it maybe right now

With red and gold color glasses but I’m like you know I’m trying to look for some positivity here not I don’t think it’s red and gold talking about the Dolphins um I mean the long run there’s still a long shot right like I I I would still put the 49ers maybe even the

Cowboys because of the ease of the road in the NFC um the bills uh I you know they’ve got the two seed they’re gonna be at home a couple of rounds so they’ve got you know uh a better shot of of getting I guess they got the same shot

Of get the Ravens at their place if if that’s who you end up playing uh but they got the Chiefs coming there you know and certainly the Baltimore Ravens who you know are not just really good all the analytics Eric say that’re they’re really good um let’s talk about

That is is this the toughest road that they could have possibly been handed uh Dolphins bills Ravens and then whoever you know probably the Niners out of the NFC yeah no question no question I mean they would have loved to have seen the Pittsburgh Steelers limping here without

TJ Watt with Mason Rudolph playing playing quarterback for them and just Feast on that one you know for for 60 minutes to get the Dolphins even though the Dolphins are beat up I think the Dolphins will play them tough I think it’s gonna be a blowout and then having to go to

Buffalo and then knowing that look I think there’s a good chance the Browns could beat the Ravens I would pick the Ravens in that game but you’re still looking at having to play in Buffalo or in Baltimore two teams that have a lot whove been playing who been winning you

Know B Buffalo hasn’t been playing great but they’ve been winning and that matters Baltimore has been playing great and being at home in that environment if You’ ever been there for a playoff game it is a tremendous place to be and a hard place to win and so yeah I think

Just the Chiefs have to play three really good games to get to the Super Bowl as opposed to two or two and a half and that’s a big big factor you don’t know what could happen this week they could lose players to injuries um they could barely Escape they could

Look bad and it again it’s as much as Buffalo has been ugly Buffalo seems to play better when things are hard buffalo buffalo is the 2021 Chiefs like have we not seen this right like and the funny thing is is the the Texans are the 2021

Bengals right ex and and ignore the fact that the the Ravens are not the 2021 Titans right so it’s not gonna we’re probably not going to see you know that happen right and so um but that yeah I mean the funny yeah the Chiefs have the toughest road now they’re they’re

Lucking out a little bit obviously with the injuries to the Dolphins and then the weather I think does play to Kansas City strengths in that their defense is much much much much much better than the Dolphins is but it is the toughest Road in the AFC and I don’t think it’s

Particularly close it could have been much harder though if um if the dolphin would have played for a tie the other day it could have been a lot harder because that would have been Buffalo be in the first round for the Kansas C Chiefs but uh but assuming no ties it

Ended up being the hardest one I want to go back to something that Jeff said where like they’re going to have to play three really good games right Eric just got done talking about how the bills you know slopped around against the Dolphins and kept them in the game uh the Chiefs

Are healthier than the Dolphins I think the Chiefs are better than the Dolphins I do think the three and a half point line is scary as a Chiefs fan I’d like to see that thing up there at six six and a half and feel a lot better about

It three and a half says to me that there’s a lack of confidence in the Chiefs they know that they’ve shot themselves in the foot all year but you know when it comes to the bills are we sure that the Chiefs couldn’t have a an

Aame a c game and the bills have a Dame and blow themselves up and then maybe bounce back with an aame against the Ravens and and find their way through that way like are we convinced I I think we have a tendency to look at when you

Look at from one team’s perspective to always assume the opponent you’re going to get their best and I don’t know that the bills are much more capable of the Chiefs and putting together three really good games I think they’re probably more likely to win without their Agame Jeff

But like do we know that the bills are gonna bring a quality effort well what I’m saying is the bills can beat the Pittsburgh J without playing a great game and so that gives them a pass so that means that they just have to play

Great in the next round to get to the AFC Championship game and so I like their odds of doing that because Josh Allen you watched that game against Miami that that was the full Josh Allen experience right it was like said it’s like the three turnovers it’s the bad

Decision before halftime and then it’s all these amazing plays that get him to 400 yards or total offense and get them to win but in a one game scenario it’s not like a four game series in baseball or basketball or seven game series in baseball and basketball it’s like one

Game and if you look at Josh Allen’s track record in the playoffs he plays pretty well in January and so I wouldn’t bet on him all of a sudden melting down in those in that kind of a moment whereas the Chiefs like we talk about them

Playing their aame like how many a games have they played this year what they got like three two against like bad teams I mean they haven’t they haven’t had an impressive win since Miami that was a long time ago and I don’t even know how impressive that that wi was U that’s

There I mean Eric is it predictable on Josh Allen is there a method to creating the mistakes or you know I put up the comment I did relate him to Brett Favre people call Patrick Mahomes Brett Favre coming out of Texas Tech Josh Allen’s the Brett Favre I mean brilliant play

And so good that when he plays well and has a good game that they the the national analysts can’t help but fall over themselves to get to the front of the line to scream he’s the best quarterback he’s the best he’s the best and then they likewise can’t get to the

Front of line fast enough say how bad he sucks and quote that he has more turnovers than anybody else in football he is Brett barve a little bit different in the sense that he runs more I guess that but 15 Wild Card yeah I know he he’s phen 15 rushing

Touchdowns which sets a record I know it’s 17 games which is you know so it’s not necessarily fair but um I love Josh Al like I think he’s firmly the second best quarterback in the NFL behind Patrick um by the way he had 15 and 16 games he didn’t get one against the

Dolphins he already had the 15 going in yeah you’re right he and Herz he and Herz had 15 this year for a new record yeah by the way everybody everybody Dak over herts everybody gonna apologize to me okay um the uh was that a thing yeah everybody was talk

Everybody was saying I was an idiot for having Dak over hers I mean you guys weren’t because you guys know football but like everybody I would I wouldn’t say you’re an idiot but I’d like to see Dak you know pee a drop in the postseason before yeah but dak’s better

Than her Victory like we’ve all seen the evidence now that Dak is a better quarterback than Jaylen Herz right yeah I’ll give you that this year better passer CD lamb now CD lamb is a CD lamb would be offensive player of the year if it weren’t for mcaffrey and and Tyreek

Hill right so maybe he’s got a little help but um I look Josh Allen the problem with the bills is they don’t run the football and I like and and that’s me talking but like the bills the bills the the opposing defense gives them the

Run game and they just don’t take it and and and they put too much on his shoulders I think and and they don’t and and they just they they just get away from stuff that works sometimes and they put yeah I don’t want to go too deep on

The bills here but just like overall like they are susceptible to crapping in their own hat they exactly that’s what I’m saying like the bills and the Chiefs the Chiefs have this issue too right where like sometimes these teams just they they just go go a little too far

With some of the stuff and like that that’s how they make mistakes uh I forgot about that there yeah uh we will do that at the end of the year when we go over our predictions on how well we did there were a couple of them that didn’t necessarily come

The kid who you know you bat lead off in Little League Baseball because he’s the fastest kid on the team and he only bats about 300 but he’s gonna run deli’s out which means he gets about two three inside the park home runs about 10 little league home runs you know when

The guys have a snowball fight with it out there runs into outs at second and third all the time uh goes out the center field runs a long way makes an out you’re just totally impressed but he also stares up at the hot air balloon while three hits go right by him uh

Because he’s not paying attention like is he brain dead sometimes yes clearly is he one of the chief’s three best wide receivers yes clearly he is uh Jeff getting him back is that a boost to this offense no and I acknowledged all his faults right does it doesn’t get on base

Much yeah right no consistency all those things right he will drive you crazy as a manager he’ll drive you crazy as a coach but he also can make some plays and and the other guys that they’ve been asking to make plays have had 17 games

To do it 16 games to do it they didn’t do it he at least looks like he can give them a little bit of a shot in the arm or am I missing something uh I can’t believe we’re about to have a conversation talking about Nicole Hardman micle Hardman being a boost to

This offense it just I’m not gonna go there you can to wait a minute you can totally believe we’re having the conversation now have we said this in in training camp no you’d be like oh my God you’ve lost your mind like how bad could

It be before we have to get to that well it’s been that bad yeah yeah uh it’s been yeah I’m trying to meet you halfway here I just can’t get there with it I think that if you let mle Harman play long enough you will be as frustrated as you

As we’ve been with NBS with cadarius Tony with Sky Moore there is just he will just hurt you in other ways maybe he’ll catch more balls but he’ll run the wrong routes he’ll be in the wrong spot um I don’t think he’s even that dangerous as a deep threat to be honest

With you I think he’s he’s fast but he’s not he’s you can’t track the ball exactly yeah he’s not that center fielder you you think he is in little league and so would he be a better option probably but is that saying much you know it’s

Like uh yeah it’s I’m not confident in him helping much at all I think they have to rely on as Eric said Rashid rice turning it up PCO turning it up and then cobbling together some combination of other guys with Kelsey where that’s Watson Richie James Hardman or maybe

That’s the three I guess that’s there’s nobody else where to throw in there so maybe those three guys if you can get decent play out of one of them then you’ve got something but I don’t I’m not going to sit here and say I I believe

Mcole Harman is going to go out and kill it this weekend I didn’t say kill it you know I said he adds to the offense yeah does does he does he or does he not make the offense better uh I don’t think he does I think he
