Now this is a feeling that you can do with your irons and your driver it’s just a general swing Improvement now everybody is dying to get into sort of this position here aren’t they like you you’re trying it you maybe tried sort of placing it there you’ve tried starting

From the ground up you’ve tried all sorts of ways but I want you to think about it this way and just think about the relationship of this Gap now I’m going to get rid of my golf club to start with and I want you just to follow

This process if you want this to last your game and come in you’ve got to follow it this way now I want you to get the feeling first off you’re going to hook your left hand under your right elbow okay this is going to get the

Feeling of as we start down let’s feel as we’re pulling right elbow in front of us now you’ll notice as I do this look what’s happening I’m starting to make this motion and the reason why I like this feeling of pulling it with the back of the hand it’s because it’s a strange

Motion for a lot of us to make so what I recommend at stage one is just try this for 8 to 10 reps and you could literally get out your chair if you’re watching this video and start to improve your swing I promise you this is where you

Can really start to improve with a simple feeling so let’s go to the Top Again get the idea feeling as though I’m pulling this across me now after you’ve done that for 8 to 10 reps this this is what I would suggest to do further grab

The golf club just in your right hand I’m going to grip it right almost down towards where the shaft meets the grip and if you’re doing this with your driver again you would grip in the exact same position I want you to do this now remember it’s the

Relationship between them both and we’re training this feeling to be your trigger I want you to really forget about the ground up aspect right now I think a lot of people because they don’t have their arms organized that does a lot more damage than it does good so let’s grab

That Golf Club hook it round again we’re sort of building on what we did at that stage one here all the way to the top and again get that same idea I’m going to pull now look what this does to my shaft look what this does to this

Feeling of working the arm in front Okay now there’s one key element we’ve forgotten about here if you’re shallowing the clock you’ve got to strengthen the face and right end of the video I’ll give you a feeling to bring that in but right now let’s concentrate on that shallowing so you can really

Just do this by just going up pull it across let the golf club swing through and I get a lot of my students just to do this constantly because it’s a really bizarre feeling a lot of people when I video them they feel like the club is

Down here and the reality is it is just on on playing so once you’ve got the feeling of that again really take your time with it eight to 10 reps we’re at the point of the season now where we’re really trying to upgrade our game ready

For the start of the Season around April time so this feeling this feeling and let it swing through stage one stage two completed now just watch this I’m going to hit them away and I’ll tell you the feeling that I use from stage one and stage two in my game right just watch

This fly you’re going to notice the ball fly higher fly longer now I’m going to say right this is with a four iron now probably a lot of us don’t even carry a four iron but this is when you’re going to get confidence in those longer irons

And your driver that’s just carryed 200 yards finish 218 I’m going to hit one more and I’ll tell you that feeling now what I’m sort of getting the idea of is that Gap now let me just hit this one away again let’s see if I can match that

Up so that’s consistency we’re bringing into your game as well was even better look at this one come back high flighted long iron shots become a lot easier now the feeling that I had there is and if I just stay here for you that I get the idea of imagine

There’s a balloon in here right I’m not trying to stab the balloon with my right elbow but I’m trying to apply more pressure with my right elbow than my left so that’s that move and that’s honestly all I think about to start the down swing because if I do that throwing

A ball automatically the rest of my body starts to move it’s not going to stay static it’s going to move through isn’t it honestly you will start to do a lot more things automatically by getting the shaft working a little bit more on plane so I imagine top of the back swing

There’s that balloon in here and I’m trying to gently apply a little bit of pressure from the right hand side now I mentioned there’s one fatal error a lot of us fall into if we learn to shallow the club we don’t want to leave that

Face wide open a lot of people do that so the idea I would bring into stage two and stage three just going back a little bit here would be to as I’m pulling that across us I’m trying to make sure my club face is more matching my spine it’s

Not laid back here it’s trying to be more in that position so it really feels as I’m putting the pressure watch my wrist there putting pressure down on the golf ball it’s not here it’s down on the golf ball so a little bonus just to add there

To shallow the club you’ve got to strengthen the face that’s a simple way that you’re going to start to move the club way better

  1. I appreciate the unique perspective this video brings to the table. It's refreshing and thought-provoking.😘

  2. I have used this feeling for years and it has to be one that you now go to! Let me show you how I brought this into my game

  3. Thank you! I've tried (with some success) to keep the elbows together as you recommend…but, I may have exaggerated that because it led to some pain (shoulder blade?)…how to avoid that, and what to do if that occurs?

  4. I think the issue with this is it'll feel like it'll open the face. Seems like most players who slice do so because they can't close the face?
