Controlling The Club Face πŸ‘‰ https://youtu.be/hwfNuUh9yL0

What I’m about to show you could possibly be the easiest way to improve any golf swing the main tendency SI see students come and see me that do they’ll either take the club back way too far on the outside get to disconnect and then work very much lateral to finish off the

Golf swing because they know they’ve come too far on the outside or you’ll tend to see them do the opposite on the takeaway working up to the back swing where they’ll drag this right arm this way instead go way too far on the inside and then have no choice but to bring the

Club up and then we get that over the top move then in reaction to this we either do one way where we go over the top on the down swing or we do the opposite where we get too far underneath and have to try and release the club and

These are the main two Tendencies and we’re going to be looking at simplifying this today for you with something that you can do on the back swing and something you can do on the down swing yes just one thought on the back swing and one thought on the down swing for

Those of you who are new to the channel welcome man my name is Harry PJ gol professional transforming golfers worldwide down here at the golf projects make sure you hit the Subscribe button hit the Bell icon so you don’t miss out on any future videos why not drop a

Comment down below a tips or drills video topic you would like me to cover in a future video so first off what I’m about to tell you is going to be most effective if we can get the right arm set in the correct position so just before we do anything with the back

Swing or down swing whatsoever it’s really important we have this correct so what you’re going to do is just set up as if you were to get into your posture ready to the golf ball without the club itself and you’re going to take your lead hand and just put it on your chest

Or to your thigh so it’s just out the way for now I’m going to put it on my chest CU it just feels easier for me and a lot of golfers they’ll tend to set up with the right arm too much rotation this way internal whether the

Arm is rotated this way and you can see if I was to take the club back from this position here we’d have to drag this right arm this causes both of those outcomes or we either drag the right arm out and away from us and then get very

Lateral or we drag the right arm too far inwards the trail arm inwards at the start of the goal swing and get that over the top move so what we’re going to do is we’re going to take the trail arm out in front of us and rather than

Having it set almost where the Palm is facing towards the ground due to this rotation happening here we’re just going to get this movement here and twist it all the way over so that the Palm now is pointing towards the sky and you can see from this camera angle here that the

Elbow is pointing towards the body as opposed to pointing away from the body we’re now pointing it towards the body this is a very good checkpoint for you just to make sure you’ve got the arm set in position you can also see there it doesn’t have to be locked straight we

Can just Flex it and relax it a little bit like so so when it comes to taking the grip now when we do this we can roll the wrist over rather than bringing the arm over like this we’re going to get this RI wrist over so now we understand

That point and we’re going to bring this in later on in the video now let’s talk about the only move that you need to produce in the back swing to simplify things for you whether you swing on the outside or the inside so if I was to

Have this right arm set in this position here as opposed to this way we’ve got it set now with the elbow pointing towards the body if I was just simply do a bicep curl imagine I’ve got a dumbbell here and I’m going to do a bicep curl upwards

It would look something like this wouldn’t it okay we’re getting this flexion in the bicep extension in the tricep here so now rather than getting this right arm moving this way we’re going to get it moving this way okay what did I do there I got this arm

Working this way what did I do to get it set in this position here I got my back facing towards the target so after doing a couple more reps this just to get used to this motion we can now start to bring this into a golf club so I’ve got a golf

Club now I’ve got an Anan in my hand we’re going to take the grip down like so just to keep things easier for us when we’re doing this same again hand on the chest I’m just going to set up into my normal posture if I was to hit the

Golf ball and from here now I’m just thinking about those two motions to take the club back into the top of the Swing I’m thinking about this bicep Cur taking place okay so not setting it now out in front we’re actually encouraging the hand to take the club back this way from

This rotation that we’ve got here and look what happens when I use the golf club now look at this the arm is set in this really nice controlled position it’s very much staying connected to the body as opposed to getting too far on the outside and dragging it this way as

Well as going too far on the inside and then going over the top like so now I’m going to do this again rotate it up to the top get in in that flexion that bicep curl taking place and now if I was to take my lead hand onto the grip like

So look at that for the top of the back swing there in the position that we all desire so I’m going to take another practice swing just doing this filling this bicep curl taking place all the way up to the top of the Swing allowing this rotation back to Target taking the lead

Hand on like so and just looking at the golf ball for a sec just to really understand what that feels like to you does it feel like you’re going very much higher into the top of the back swing does it feel like you’re going more on

The outside because you may be so used to going on the inside or vice versa it feels like you’re going too far on the inside because you’re so used to going on this outside swing path to start the golf swing but I want you to think of

The lead arm for the back swing phase it’s just a guide to take this club back into position for this try larma vast of that bicep curl and what do we need to remember what did I mention at the start of the video we don’t want to grip the

Club this way because if I grip the club that way now my elbow pointing towards that camera there and I try and do this bicep Cur look what happens we go back on the outside or we end up dragging it to try and get that right takeaway move

So this is going back to the right arm being set in the right position we’re just going to make sure that before we take all this golf club with the lead arm as well is that this Trail arm at the address position is set with the elbow pointing towards the body right

Palm to Sky Trail Palm to Sky we’re just going to twist the wrist over and then we can grip the club properly with that lead arm just there to guide the club in the right position and again just repeat this for a couple of moves just to get

Used to this right arm set in this position doing this bicep curl we don’t want to go any further than where the club reaches just before parallel to ground so that’s just before parallel to ground that’s parallel that’s when we come into the over swings and you’ll

Notice this out on tour maroy Fleetwood all these great players especially with the Rons will swing it up to this point here from this face on view they low always get the trail arm set in position working up to the top into something like this we’re not allowing the arms to

Continue getting this disconnection and getting this overswing to take place as soon as the back wants to stop to face towards that Target want to be stopping our arms and setting the club in that position there so lead arm is here as a guide right arm set during the bicep

Curl and we’ve just got the back to face the target like so now moving on to the down swing how can we simplify this to make the overall swing so much easier for you to achieve on repeat so you’re going to take now your Trail arm off and just allow it

Just to sit nicely on the external side of your thigh so for me being a right-handed golfer right hand just onto thigh like so when we get the club set into this position that we’ve just been working on once you get to here now a

Lot of golfers just to show you a good example of this a lot of golfers will really push and force this club into the downswing and this is why we’ve got one arm on one arm it makes it very difficult for us to force this club in

To the down swing so watch this here if I try and force this club into the down swing here now you miss the ball so you can’t force the golf club to the ball the down swing using your arms you can’t force his action to take place you’ve got to allow

The club to fall naturally there’s a key to this move here and again this is why we’ve got it on oneh handed so we’re just going to set the club up to the top if you want to use two arms to set the club to the top you can do take it off

And from here now rather than doing this action where we’re trying to force the club into the down swing here because here I’m encouraging both the arms the club and my body to work in the same dire Direction they’re all traveling left in this direction here we want the

Club and the body to work in the opposite directions so a good example is if I was to hit a baseball shot here now just doing one hand here and I swings to top I’m not going to drag the club this way and encourage my arm to force this

Club into position on the down swing to try and hit this ball I’m going to push away you can see how much more powerful and more effortless this looks here so we bring this into the actual golf swing itself swinging up to the top and then

We allow this almost press and push away watch this here it looks very natural it just looks so much easier to get this club working in the down swing because I’m allowing my body to push away from the golf ball pushing upwards off the ground and that helps with that rotation side

On the way through as well and keeping the swing sequence for those of you wondering in the correct order lower body starting first working up to the upper body look how on Plain this looks we get to the top it looks very easy just to set the

Club on this nice Circle this plane that we’re developing we’re not swinging too far on the inside there we’re not swinging too far on the outside and getting that casting motion so where pretty much bang on in the middle work it up to the top feel this move here and

Allow the club to fall and you can see that I’m pushing upwards and bringing this all into one motion is dead simple so obviously setting up with the club with two hands ready to go we’ve got this right arm set in position here the trial arm elbow pointing towards the

Body as a good checkpoint for this twisting that wrist to grip the club all set in position the two feelings are simple the back facing into Target and we’re getting that bicep curl to take this club to the top of the swing for this motion on the down swing here using

Two hands we’re just allowing the club to fall I’m getting the chest working upwards away from the direction that the club’s moving in the direction the golf club is moving that way as my chest is moving in the opposite direction same thing applies when we tilt over into our

Posture working it this way the clubs falling naturally to the golf ball as my chest is working upwards this way and this will allow you to get all those correct motions in play to get that down swing working in your favor which is why this could possibly be the easiest way

To improve anyone’s golf swing so bicep curl it to the top back to Target and allow the club to fall naturally nice little draw which is what I usually like to play on the golf course so make sure you do go ahead and give us a try and feel free to reach out

  1. An excellent idea Harry to have one thought on making the golf swing! I know too often I have multiple thoughts when making my swing rather than only one swing thought! Your idea for the use of the right arm with its "bicep curl" and the "gravity drop" of the club in the downswing is an excellent one! Something I have been working on and will continue doing! Well Done Harry! Looking for more good things to come from you in 2024! All The Best!!

  2. I do the same with my lead arm of having my elbow turned in and just feel the hands going down the toe line as the club goes up to the top. Then they fall down and are easy to make great compression. Works for me. Great video
