There is nothing more frustrating than hitting a drive right down the middle of the Fairway coming up to your ball and giving it the old back hit the grind first either Duff it or thin it absolutely nowhere so I’m going to give you three things I want you to work on

Today that are going to help get rid of that hitting the grind first every single time and you’re going to start striking those irons a whole lot better and you’re going to start making more birdies so the first thing we need to look at is our setup so a lot of the

Time you guys setting up the golf ball we’re going to see the legs way too bent almost like we’re just sitting down like this then the upper body gets to upright and the arms get out so right now we’re in a position where we can’t rotate

Can’t Twist and Turn we can’t keep the top on playing very consistently without manipulating it with our hands and arms we don’t want that that’s just going to give us a whole lad of load of problems when it comes to striking our IRS so let me just show you one thing that does

Happen so when we take the club back if we’re in this squatted seated setup position when we take the club back it’s likely that we’re going to see the upper body tilting back towards a Target like this okay now I see a lot of people doing there so

Many people stacking their weight onto their front foot when they get to the top then what happens is they have to go this way and as they go this way the club gets released like this this is it getting released then it grinds out either too early or when they try and

Miss the grind they lift up to try and catch the ball clean and they end up thinning the golf ball completely so we have to change the setup straight away so what we want to do is stand leg straight back straight arm straight out in front of this like it’s extending

Straight out from our belt buckle here then from here we’re going to bend from the hip keeping the back straight As we can until the club hits the ground now that’s the distance we need to be away from the golf ball then from here we’re going to take two steps and then soften

The knee slightly so we have the pressure running through the balls of the feet and not on your heels now you’re in a position where you’re going to be able to start the club back on plane set the club and get yourself into a nice rotated position that will allow

You to deliver the club the same way every single time tip number two then is our short back swing short follow through practice so what we want to see is that when we take the club back we’re only going to go to this position here where we’ve created an L shap so the

Left arm or your lead arm is straight you’ve got your set and the club’s pointing up to the sky okay that’s as far as we want to go back for this drill so here and then what we’re going to do is we’re going to start a down swing

With a bit of a pressure shift and then through nice and low so we want to feel that the pressure moves into this foot we put the arm straight the club set then we’re going to shift across and finish nice and low that is a great drill for getting you the feeling of

Striking the ball first at impact so let’s give that a go halfway shift through perfect contact absolutely perfect and so the third and final tip to master your irons and stop hitting the grind first and start hitting more greens to start making more birdies is very very simple guys it’s

Just to eem correctly much of people I see eing off to the left off to the right if you can do this right where you’re set up right and you can make that back swing and make that nice compact follow through all you got to do

Is a and the ball’s going to go straight okay so what we want to do is we want to stand behind the golf ball Point our club at the Target and then draw a line down to a spot just in front of the ball so I can see a little

Bit of dirt there so that’s what I’m going to line my club face up to when I come into to take my setup so I’m going to set up like that club face is lined up to that little start in the ground and then I’m going to take my two steps

Soften the knees balance in the balls of feet halfway back compress through that Ball’s going exactly where I’m aiming so guys just to recap first of all we got to make sure we set up correctly to the golf ball so that we’re not squatting we’re setting up very

Athletic so that we can turn and create the same swing over and over again and the second tip is to go halfway back compress halfway through just to get you that strike and that feeling of how to strike the golf ball now and your KN setup and in the third and the most

Simple thing of all is just aim at your target don’t aim over there don’t aim over there because that’s where it’ll go so aim at the Target and you’ll do just fine so thank you for watching be sure to subscribe leave a little like so you

Don’t miss any future ones and I’ll see you in the next one
