You’ been working in your speed yeah 101 no big deal thank you super speed this episode’s brought to you by super speed 260 all right long ball that’s what they call me long ball mic amongst other things all right guys welcome back so Michael we’re coming towards the end

Here we’ve got the second last and penultimate test fairywood testing add on the sort of low spin low launch fairywood if you want to kind of designate them as that um on Monday you tonight are going to conclude the test on fairwoods for the good players the the higher handicapper uh Fairwood heads

All right no no more more of the kind of mid to high launch Co let’s call them that just to be fair to you that’s nice no you’re a nice player let’s abuse okay let’s start off there’s a six to go at we’ve got g430 we’ve got the strick on Fairwood

Just for John Fishburn we’ve got TSR 2 stealth 2 we have paradig what’s the other one can you see it Muno szo um six to test again some of them falling out the demo Matrix at this time of year guys AO jet is certainly one that would make this test but is no

Longer in The Matrix six is plenty that’s a lot gives us a good idea as to what’s uh what’s working well out there so we’re going to start you with g430 Mikey okay Michael so if we were to pair up your seven wood with a a big brother this would be it

This would be it right here 430 Max yep maybe we’ll change a 3w after today maybe maybe you been working in your speed yeah 101 no big deal thank you super speed this episode’s brought to you by super speed 260 yeah all right long ball that’s what they call me long ball mic

Amongst other things big long mic 102 all I care about is the speed we had noticed how many of these we hitting oh lovely I got away with it yeah y Ping’s most successful Fair rud ever Mikey this thing’s so good um yeah lots and lots of tour success with this in

2023 the only thing I would say compared to like the to my 3w right now is this is really it’s high pitch sound to me whereas the ti stealth just sign sounds a little bit more you mean it’s it’s a it’s a different noise isn’t it it’s not

I don’t hate it it’s not like a a kind of like a strong crack that you get out of some of the titanium ones it’s a different noise pretty good yeah pretty good 146 ball that’s all driver I know all right Mikey callway Paradigm yeah interesting talking to

Wonder about how many of the tour players actually preferred this to the triple diamond oh really lot a lot more little larger Crown to this one the larger kind of footprint and and just it kind of got up in the air a little bit easier but didn’t didn’t sort of spin

With it so um yeah this was the choice on the Callaway staff interesting it looks like it has a bit of Loft but it it’s obviously just 15 mhm nice very nice Dar okay you let have moving golf I know I didn’t know whether to stop her go you no

Choice pull a hamstring if you try to stop the down swing pretty good I’ll take it here that’s nice that’s that kind of uh High laun keep them spin down though yeah yeah very good like that one a lot that was nice we spinning one yeah it’s

Okay don’t mind a bit of that no not bad yeah pretty good little uh pretty good little showing from both of those all right Mikey stealth to yeah I’ve never hit this popular choice for a lot of the tail made staffers yeah your boy Scotty Sheffer I like Scotty Sheffer

He was using that new one but he’s gamed this for a while mhm oh AI good is that there could to be three new clubs six new clubs before the end of the year that’s not that’s not a good sign just stay climb climb climb how does this one

Feel uh not bad I’ll tell you right now the Ping is the easiest I feel like you could even miss the Ping a little bit and it gets up in the air for you but this isn’t bad yeah your numbers are quite good with this one but the the

Kind of miss the dispersion wasn’t as good yeah in the win okay not bad just your fastest ball speed no big deal yeah that’s easy come back please SKS now hold on got some uh heat behind it this thing yeah the carries up big time scks on eh yeah look at the ball

Speed nice oh smashing strion deserved that’s quite good that I might put one in the bag can order some wedges and a 3ood tonight good a boy coming at hot hotl okay one more a little sneaky Contender with stz here yeah it’s got some speed behind it

Doesn’t it a little bit of heat to yeah I mean it’s good that you’re doing this testing uh with this sort of category of Fairwood Mikey because you one thing it does stand out as we go through it one thing you could do with always with

Fairwoods a bit of launch yeah yeah yeah right you spin it enough your ball speed’s really really good but you can see I’ll be a bit too long a little bit of that launch would be would be added Vantage is for sure 11 out of 10

Times Well very nice I wasn’t sure if you were telling the truth four more of those if you don’t mind K sir ah it’ll work go good enough good enough wrap it up all right Mikey boy um Keen to hear your thoughts before we dive into the

Numbers too much what did you enjoy what surprised you on either side yeah you like that didn’t you SE sounds quite nice carries up totals up ball speeds up I’ll definitely build one of those is that right yeah I’m going to build one that’s big praise I know and I’ll

Hit hit it against the stealth too and see what it’s like but the strickson felt easy it felt lighter mhm it sat nicely John fishburn’s right it’s a good fairywood right all along mhm I always knew he was you’ve been dissing him on this channel you doubted him you doubted

Him I for one was a supporter um in terms of the numbers I mean across the board I love the the flight when you hit it well with the stealth two I think this is the type of launch and spin profile I’m kind of looking for you to have with a fair rud

Um I know you don’t always really launch three-wood uh you know that high I thought that was really really nice these to me for you are a little bit in the flat s side yeah but I think for fairywood like where I play most of my golf I’m not

Really hitting three-wood into a green maybe more of a tea Club so that’s where the stck S kind of Peaks my interest but yeah that launch is a big difference it’s nice it is nice I thought you hit the misso really really uh really good as well you turned

Over a touch it was nice and quick I think you lost a little bit of launch I think that one could have been a real good Contender had you not just turned them over just a fraction but I mean we’re we’re really splitting hairs yeah the face could have been a bit too

Closed in the back so you weren’t you weren’t enjoying the Paradigm as much no it it s like it had a lot of Loft um yeah just just not for me ease of use you said g430 was so easy so easy and ntsr2 at the end

Thoughts uh yeah um maybe because of you know feel like I’ve hit a million golf balls today um it definitely there was a couple slower ones in there but I mean it’s still held up um yeah I mean I the title is fairywood is one of the nicest

Looking ones out there sounds great um they’re all they’re all very good they’re all very very good fairwoods um if I had to buy one right now it would be a ciron okay guys that concludes the fairywood test and Mikey has himself a new fairywood it’s in the

Baging a year end project listen John Fishburn said he’d sign it for you very good outside it back charger 50 bucks that how much autographs are going for these days 150 um yeah some uh some really good ones in the test there I think it was evident that there there is some height

Differences between them yeah I think which is good for you guys to see those of you who are looking to knock ball flight down those who are looking to spike it up there there’s definitely a bit of difference the one thing that I think some of the fairwoods had

Obviously the two I I like for you well STX was good like you said but I like the stealth as well bonded yeah yeah n something that’s a bit rare these days in a fairywood is is a is a sort of uh shaft straight in bonded fairywood yeah

I know it was uh the STS on to me like I said It felt the lightest and I I mean you could put both on a scale an adjustable one and a bonded one and they’re going to be you know Mill or couple grams differ um but yeah that I

Don’t know the stck on just felt really good I was impressed I I I think I do think I mean as a fitter I scream for the adjustability I do think when you hit them head-to-head though bonded and and adjustable you will enjoy the feel

Of a bonded Fair more yeah I just think that’s the nature of it you’re just going to get the mass where you need it which is which is directly behind the strike those cogs we a bit mhm yeah definitely I and again you’re talking about that launch now it’s playing in my

Head how can I get the launch up a little bit with the stck on I’ll find a way maybe it’s a different sha maybe it’s not a old little hot mil in the back just change the CG a little bit on it okay work in progress um Mikey’s

Falling into the the Trap of the winner of the test goes in the bag that’s how I ended up with so many clubs too much test in the channel that’s how we’ve done it okay guys hopefully there was something for you in there uh wrapping up the Fairy Woods we do have the

Hybrids left to test best off series though has been a lot of fun to film for you guys hopefully you get a chance to see head-to-head how some of these perform uh we got a chance to work with these clubs in the bay every single day but um good to show you guys

Head-to-head with some you know consistency in the swing your delivery was nice there you a degree or so down you’re little out to in actually really nice LA or delivery conditions for a Fairwood uh that’s that’s something that I really like to see is when a player’s

Getting a little bit into the strike I I follow the other way which I don’t like to see when people start to hit up in it a little bit too much you start to miss the strike and favorwood can be a little bit floaty so um good job in the testing

Hybrids coming your way soon guys stay tuned and we’ll see you again Soon

  1. It would be nice if possible if you would have someone review with a swing speed closer to the average golfer. I really enjoy your channel.

  2. I'm one of those guys who see's a lot of myself in Mike's game. For me a 3 wood has ONLY one purpose- max distance off the deck. I play a lot of courses where par 5's take everything I have in my bag to get there in two (and often that's not enough). I also play a 5 wood, so if I'm thinking "safe" or "accuracy" I don't pull the 3w I pull the 5w. I don't hit the 3w off the tee because there's not enough accuracy gained to sacrifice the distance. I know a lot of people think how a club "comes into the green" but sometimes the need calls for distance moreso than stopping power.

  3. Mikey seems to hold back on his trail foot, he never seems to fully get over to the lead side

  4. Is it me or does Mikey's swing look faster? Some of those shots had a little grey poupon on em! 😂😂😂

  5. I had no plans to change my 3 wood when I went to get fitted for RTX wedges! That Srixon 3 wood is the best product they launched all year. Turf interaction is 🔥

  6. Looks like Mikey’s swing for this session had more draw bias than fade bias. Generally under 2 degrees out to in swing path with just a touch of open face angle combined with added speed from his speed training work seems to be working for him. Maybe some swing path work and refinement too. Good work!

  7. Notice you are using fsx for range work is this because you don’t rate the play ? I upgraded to fsx play and must admit if I am just practicing I use fsx as prefer the layout and if playing a course use play better graphics

  8. Went for a fairway wood fitting. Launch a major issue for me. It looked like the Stealth 2 was going to be a winner but the fitter had one more trick up his sleeve…..a TSR1 with a +6 gram weight in the head for the heavier swing weight!! It worked an absolute peach and thats what I walked away with!! Never would've looked at TSR1 as an option so just goes to show that you should always get fitted!!

  9. I have the Srixon 3 and 5 wood. They look and feel great and the 3 wood is a bomber! I tested it against most of the other 3 woods and it was the best by a lot. TSR2 was my second choice but it was a few yards shorter.

  10. Would’ve love to see Dynapower in this one. Looks and sounds great. Probably the best wilson fw have ever made

  11. There is a srixon 3 wood at my shop near my house that is adjustable and it's an mkii. How will that affect the CG vs bonded. More draw bias.?

  12. Love my Rogue ST HL 3 wood. I hardly ever use a 3 wood of the tee and this thing has been a dream going at long par 5’s in two. I dropped my old 3 wood and 5 wood and now I’m using Driver, HL 3 wood and 7 wood and it’s been working great for me!

  13. I can't believe that this launch monitor isn't set to correct Mikey's swing. At the 7 minute mark, with an out to in path, and an open face, center strike, .5 degrees downwards angle of attack and this ball is going straight with a tiny draw, no way. 9:03 neutral path, .9 degree open face, center strike, flight is a pull draw. A lot of his swings are producing results that just don't add up. Am I missing something? Does the D plane have that much effect with a three wood?

  14. Have been looking at finishing off my set of zx5 irons with srixon woods need to go for a fitting first but so far Love what I see in all three

  15. Mikey would most likely benefit from a 16.5* Fairwaywood. He has enough ballspeed, but struggles with launch a bit. Don‘t try to make a 15* fairwaywood work. Go up on loft.

  16. The data analysts always talk about statistically you are just as likely to hit the fairway with a driver as a three wood. Forgetting the fact that I would like to know why that may be- I think you should do a controlled individual test with say OOB on the right and heavy rough on the left and see how the strokes gained stacks up as it is the awful shots (OOB and lost balls etc). that have most to do with us mortal golfers. I also think that too much emphasis is placed on the fairway finder is a three wood- I would test to see what is the optimum club to use for an individual where there is a very high probability of success.

  17. Great video. I love the verbal banter between the guys. 🙂 I'm scheduled for getting fit for Mizuno irons, hybrids and the ST-Z tomorrow. SUPER excited!

  18. I love my C721. It’s a few years old, but it’s going to take a small miracle to get it out of my bag. Find a fairway wood you love, & it’ll occupy bag real estate longer than any other club.
