Every Open champion has to start their story somewhere – for two-time champion Padraig Harrington, that was in 1996.
Over a decade before the Irishman would go on to win back-to-back Claret Jugs, he made his Open debut at Royal Lytham & St Annes. It was a great first outing too! As Harrington secured himself a tied 18th finish.
These are the best moments of Paddy’s introduction to the world’s oldest golf tournament.
