5 Handicap to scratch golf in 150 days… is it possible?
is it possible to go from a single figure handicap golfer to scratch golfer 0 handicap in 150 days? In this video I talk about how to become a scratch golfer with fairways hit percentage, green in regulation (GIR) and putts to lower my handicap this summer

Loving the content jack, fair played good to see some fresh vids with great info
I think you’ve got this! You’ve come down from 30 so quickly…
nice work jack! I'm 7.6 at the Moment but moving away soon so will probably go up 😢
Solid content, big fan of the breakdown on stats and thought process.
Jack, how many lessons have you had and what was the key thing in your opinion that got you moving from a 30 hdcp to single figures?
i commented on your last video that you looked closer to a scratch golfer, good luck on your challenge. big props for doing the most important thing and bulking up. people can add 50 yards from packing on 15 lbs of muscle. solid for that.
i think you could actually get a little more distance out of your driver if you got a fuller rotation from your hips (and maybe a touch more on the shoulders). maybe go to a pro and try "swinging up" on your driver a bit more. i think you have the athletic capacity to be a really big hitter. you have the strength for it, now it's more about harnessing it with power/speed development.
around the green, when thinking about chipping, you could try getting your wedges a bit more upright, it'll stop the hozzle from getting snagged in the rough. working on more pitchy/bump and runny type of shots could benefit too. the jump from 5 to scratch is where most people have to really start hitting different shots around the green.
from a former division 1 collegiate golfer, good luck! not many ever break par!
i started last year and now i'm in 24,7. I hope to get down in 15-20 this year.
24.5 hcp aiming for.. +1 👊. Going to take some time!
Great video jack.
My current hcp is 9.4 and I'm aiming for 6 by around October time. I think you can definitely make it to 2 hcp bu the end of the season. It will be good to watch your progress 👍🏾👊🏾
Hey Jack – Just found your channel, and loving the content. Any advice on what's out there for me to track the type of stats you're talking about, or shots? I'm returning to golf after a hefty break, so looking to get some low cards in for my handicap.
LISTEN UP, sorry but youre not gonna do it , i want to see you play loads of courses not 9 holes on your home track over and over, sorry to be negative but all this "ill get to scratch" no you wont! what is this ego in this game all about, if you cant break 80 then why do you think as a beginner you can suddenly shoot level and under, on the old system you would be going up 0.1 not being gifted a fake index! with zero talent!
What is that app you use to track statistics?
Love the stats breakdown. My game significantly improved once I realized each game within the game. Hitting those benchmarks produces lower scores.
Nice video, I don't have an official handicap at the moment and am very much at the start of my journey, but if handicap was based on how many balls lost per round I'd be 30.
currently at a 13.3 and im trying to get under 10 by october
My current handicap is +4.6 I’m aiming to be a 12 handicapper by the end of June
Get your Kirkland out
Thought i recognised you bigman. Ezekiel😂😂. Love the content geez, that fifa coin money got the handicap right down!
I'm a 11.8 trying to get to single figures
Great channel Jack. Presently playing off 15, but want to get down to single figures. I find your tips and stats really helpful trying to achieve that goal. 👍
12.6 trying to get into single
Mate i 100% believe, i know youve got this just from 1) your progression so far 2) you can clearly see you want it and 3) seeing it and believeling it yourself, you'll definitely achieve your goal
It is possible but not easy. I went from circa 11 to +1 within the space of 2 years. I focused very hard on my main technical issue which was laying the club inside and casting into impact. Basically just ironed that out of my swing with some impact drills. Then it was 100 balls at the range 3-4 times a week working on 50, 75 and 100 yd wedge shots. Then practicing putting every night for 15-20mins hitting the ball along a metal ruler (about 3-4 feet). The on the course, you just have to try to be aggressive and leave yourself shots you've practiced at the range.
Which app do you use to track GIR + FIR mate?
Great video man
Currently 13 trying to get to 9
Was 10.4 a month ago been playing good so now 6.8
It’s possible! I went from a 15 to a 5 in 9 months! You got this! I’m hovering around a 4 rn “unofficially”. I really need to pay that $50 and enter my scores lol😅
I believe it’s possible, I’ve noticed major improvements in my game in very short period of time. I would to get to between 5-8 in the next two months
What golf app do u use? I have been using the grint app
I'm with you Jack. I'm at HCP 5 and trying to prepare for the next season over the winter so I can play scratch at the end of the next season. I focus on the short game and drives. good luck to you
