  1. The worst course I have played is Shorecliff CC in San Clemente, Ca. Crazy weird layout with some almost impossible narrow fairways, always in bad shape as far as greens and fairways, but it is the Mickey Mouse layout that is the really bad part. I think the course record used to be really high, like 68 on a par 72, but that was back in the 90’s, and don’t know if they changed the course but record now is 59. It was literally almost impossible not to have a few O.B.’s on tee shots and shots into greens, and this was playing with scratch golfers. Honorable mention is Creste Verde GC off the 91 freeway in Corona, Ca. It’s nickname was the Rockpile to give you an idea of the condition of the course, horrible fairways and greens, only played there because they had a really cheap skins game, I think it was $25 for a cart, and $10 of the $25 was put in the skin game, this was back in the early 90’s and never played since.

  2. I always thought the course I play was crummy but this make me appreciate it so much more. $15 for 9 holes, no carts and the fairways are more like a rough on other courses but that's about it. This is pitiful

  3. i tell you what, you put like a good 2 to 5 mill in that Castle Creek course and it would become a gem

  4. Evidently you never played “Houston Hills”. It was built over a condemned garbage-landfill site. No cart paths, only trails. Some awful smells. Plastic, tires, tin cans, battery cases, etc “floating” out of the ground. One par three green was protected by a standing wet swamp of hazardous liquid. There was actually a sign warning the “water hazard” was toxic. It was the prettiest hole on the course.

  5. mr short game needs to come to ontario, half our courses are just like these (especially in a dry summer)

  6. I've never golfed a day in my life & I loved this review! He delivered the review in a way that I understood most of the context, but overall just gave straight forward feedback on what he experienced as he actually played through each hole. He's funny & personable & made a non golfer want to watch a review about golf courses-to the end! I really like how doesn't just rip on the courses for every single obvious downfall, but instead plays through and just comments on what he's personally experiencing as he goes. Great video, thanks!

  7. I'll say up-front that I absolutely loathe golf, but this offering for some reason appeared within my list of 'Suggested Videos'… and it sounded interesting, so I gave it a chance. Having seen this in its entirety, I can say that I'll watch more of your videos because your dry-wit sarcasm had me absolutely DYIN' with laughter here at numerous points during your trio of forays into golf-world helldom. Your style of comedic snark commentary can result in even a non-fan of the sport enjoying your videos.

I've not yet skimmed through the comments, so you've probably answered this question already… but two serious thoughts about which I did wonder occurred to me near the end of the video. The question is… how you're able to handle being able to satisfactorily do your filming in instances where a course has many players upon it, with at least a couple or few groups behind you; I'd imagine that you have to kick into a higher speed of play to give yourself enough time to do the filming / commentating you wish to do. And, the second thing about which I thought, which I'd like to suggest you do a video for (if you've not done so already)… I know that there are some 'back to nature' courses here and there around the world which focus on being environmentally friendly – having native plant and grass species instead of invasive or non-native ones, not using chemicals in course treatment, trying to do only minimal mowing upon the course to remain as natural as possible, etc. – it would be neat to see you do reviews on a few courses of that type. I'll look through your video list to see if you might have already done some.

Thank you for the chuckles!! Your sarcastic commentary style is gold. 🙂

  8. Lightly mowed cow pastures exist everywhere in this country…some actually begin in that condition, others just slide down over time…I can think of three courses in my area that don't exist anymore…we can ridicule courses, but it is wrong even if deserved, as we can count on our thumbs the number of courses that finish in the 'black' every year…so unless we are willing to pursue thousand dollar green fees cut courses slack for not being Augusta National…

  9. 10 minutes into the video. People haven't played much if they think the first course is awful.
20 minutes in. Second course definitely doesn't want to spend any money. Fairways are obviously terrible. I've seen worse, but would probably still play there some if I lived close.
30 minutes in. Typical Southern California course that was once good, but now running on a budget of zero. Definitely atrocious, but at least there arent homeless drug addicts roaming around all day.

  10. I love the cheerfully sarcastic manner in which you look for the silver lining of your rounds in weedy dirt patches from Gehenna.

  11. Yo the canyon lake golf course is my home course! I’ve literally said “seriously this most be one of the worst courses in the country” hilarious there is now a video confirming it

  12. You look away from the camera too much. You wouldn't look away from someone you were talking too that much. Look at the lens when you are talking.

  13. You have to check out some of the courses in Chicago. edgebrook it's part of the cities forest preserve courses collection. It was the course I learned how to play. Haven't been I a while but the tee box used to be mats and if it rains hard the river next to it floods half the course for days. They charge half price those days.
