NBA offenses have become a video game

The Indiana Pacers have by far the most efficient offense in NBA history after the first month of the season, and combined for 309 points with the Hawks in a recent NBA Cup game. This detailed film breakdown & scouting report explores how Tyrese Haliburton uses shooting, passing, pace, along with Rick Carlisle’s tactics, to lead the league’s offensive explosion.

  1. Once upon a time the Kings had Fox, Buddy and Bogdanonvic all on the same team. If they had elite playmaker (drafted Luka/ Sabonis, Hali) and coach knows how to utilize screens and movement, they probably already got a chip. That offense would probably be even more deadly than today's Kings, Hawks and Pacers.

  2. It’s just so lame and boring when the league knows casuals like points and buckets more than defense so the entirety of how the rules are enforced hinder defense and benefits the offense, and that’s even without the weak ass flopping

  3. Hard to find a NBA team with a reliable 1-on-1 pressure defender at BOTH GUARD SPOTS to stop the ball. This is to blame !!!
You gotta stop the ball outside the 3-point line.

  4. This type of offence is the easiest to defend. Neither team is playing high level basketball. You must slow down the game and physically wear down the free flowing team. You don't stop heat check shots, you stop them from getting to that point with physical play and slowing down the pace of play. Make the game feel uncomfortable. Today's players are all identical to each other so there is no ability to change strategy. So both teams just try run faster and shoot from deeper to out gun the other. Stay home on the shooters. Let the two man game play all night and don't help. Make actual contact with the players on the pick and roll. These two teams are terrible not unstoppable. They are playing an AAU game not high level basketball. There are so many examples of these types of players tightening up when facing adversity and then basketball returns to what it should be. That's why the run and gun sun's always suffered in the playoffs etc

  5. The pacers are like a modern version of the 80s nuggets. They'll have to be called the Inianapolis Pacers. No D.

  6. Would have been interesting to include some snippets from the ORL-IND game to show how they stopped that IND offense (at least until the Magic put their third string in). Looking forward to a video on the Magic’s defense soon!

  7. Haliburton spoke about the Pacers pace(haha) recently, spoke about how its clear most teams don’t want to or can’t run with them after makes and misses. Their offense is super fun, both in the halfcourt and transition especially

  8. It is a three point contest with some layups/dunks in between. And there is no D. Without hand checking playing D is very difficult. There is not a whole lot of skills involved here. Run hard, find open shooter, chuck a three. All these people do is chuck threes. They cannot do much beyond that. Halliberton shooting style is ugly and unaesthetic af. This is boring basketball. Just as boring as a meat grinder low scoring one.

  9. Being on the pacers would be such a joy. Sprinting around all night is a major part of my open gym playstyle cause people absolutely hate dealing with it and I’ve always been a runner so it’s not even tough to pull off
