The Heartbreaking Tragedy of Mike Trout

#mlb #baseball #playoffs
Mike Trout was special.

Now that he’s potentially played his last game as an Angel, I figured now’s as good a time as ever to take a look back at Mike Trout’s prime years. Enjoy.

  2. He's a special player, can hit, can throw, can run and slide, all you need too be a successful baseball player….I like how he thrives under pressure….

  3. Back in a day (omg I sound like my father) players and owners stuck with each other through thick and thin. Whatever happened to staying with one team for you entire career? That alone is a sign of greatness

  4. By far the biggest "heartbreaking tragedy" of Mike Trout was him re-signing with the Angels for straight 11 years in 2020. WHY would he sign with this loser organization which keeps year after year after year spinning it's tires in deep snow??? It's Trout's own doing!

  5. He signed the extension.
He failed to change his training/body to stay healthy.
He could've spent more time at DH.
His own hubris is his true downfall

  6. that midget Altuve won the MVP over Judge's rookie season. 52 homers and 127 walks. OBP of .422 while he batted .284 and drove in 114 runs. set the rookie record for homers and walks and still they gave it to Altuve

  7. Since the 2016 season, Trout averages 97 games a year. That's it. Every injury he gets takes twice as long, or more, as any other players to heal.. He won't play in pain. He completely lost his prime years to injury. He's part of the reason the Angels don't get over the hump, along with Rendon. Both sign big contracts and won't play. The best bet is that Ohtani leaves and opens the DH to Trout. Play him anywhere else he'll get hurt. He might even get hurt just swinging a bat like he did last year. So I say TRADE him!

  8. Anyone else think Trout is slightly overrated? He compiles most of his stats when the Angels are out of the race in meaningless games. MLB wanted him to be the face of baseball to reach more fans but he declined. He’d probably rather just play in obscurity. Ohtani can’t get out of there fast enough

  9. With two of the greatest players to ever play the game on the same team, and to end the season as a team on the bottom, is heart breaking as a huge lifetime Angel fan! And hurts even worse to know at least one of these guys won’t be wearing a Halo next season!

  10. Great video! Entertaining & informative. I didn't lose interest at any point, so really, nice work 🔥👍🔥

  11. Trout waisted his time with the Anals. He should have requested a trade a long time ago to go somewhere to have a chance at winning the Worldseries.

  12. You would think by now teams would have caught on that maybe, just maybe spending more money on one player than the rest of the line up combined just might not be a smart plan and a path to winning. Trout had obviously been great his entire career but the fact that even having the player most people claim is the best player in baseball, Ohtani for years and still they didn’t succeed has to at least slightly put on him. They should have done better (but only a small bit should be on him in terms of playing). Now in terms of agreeing to a contract that was far and a way the richest ever should point out it was apparent wealth was more important than winning. You can expect a stellar roster when so much is applied to one player. By the way I know it’s like a crime to say it apparently but Acuna Jr is the best player in baseball right now not Ohtani. A DH has maybe 4 opportunists to help his team win each night and even his pitching is used sparingly. Acuna helps his team in every facet of the game.

  13. My cousin is a major baseball memorabilia collector for my birthday he gave me a sighned mike trout photo and ever since Iv been bound to him

  14. It’s not heartbreaking it’s a dude that would rather play for money then championships. He would rather just make the money be the baby face and collect his donuts nothing wrong with that but this dude “dog” died a decade ago

  15. Tragedy my butt. The guy is a multimillionaire that likes to go deep sea fishing during the offseason. Plus he's always hurt, but still gets paid.. He's living the life!
If anything, he should have signed with other teams back in 2019 when he was a free agent Maybe the Astros or some other good team. The Angels have been a joke for majority of their history. Aside from '80s, '00s, early 2010s. Other than that, they have stunk for most of their history. 2002 World Series title was a great accomplishment from them, though.

  16. When I think of unchecked, white privileged mediocrity I think of the Angels front office. Perennially terrible at what they do with zero consequences, collecting massive checks despite having no discernible skill or ability

  17. Injuries and getting beaned altered his career. He had gotten his strikeouts down, but then they escalated.

  18. Haven't won since Arte bought the team, he is the worst thing to ever happen to the Angels franchise and it's heartbreaking

  19. I wanna be the first to welcome you to the Philadelphia Phillies with Bryce Trea Castellanos Trea Turner Jt Realmuto Zach Wheeler and the boys you know them. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏plz

  20. Heartbreaking tragedy? Spare me. I'm sure he feels so heartbroken every time he looks at his bank account.
