Obviously we need to dumb it down for Fields, Bagent has skills. Composure, Composure and Composure. He talked his line up when they were screwing up.

I heard one of the bears players say during the back end of the game, “He’s ready…” towards Bagent on the sidelines. Did anyone see how hype Patrick got!? 😂
I know we criticize Getsy, but compare this first start for Bagent with Fields' first start against the Browns.
Also, Bears HAVE to start Bagent next week. The team can't win games. You don't bench a Bears rookie QB who is 1-0, period.
Felt like a Belichickian win, tbh.

I look at it this way… If you look at both players, Justin in year 3 and Tyson in year 1……….. Which one would you want to develop more as a coach, which one do you trust more, which one can be most consistent……….. The answer is Tyson every single time in my opinion
the main difference I noticed is that Bagent unlocked the zone running more than fields has done this season because he is accurate on the short throws. fields is a gunslinger, but cant hit the short throws consistently (he legit got herbert hurt because he missed an 8 yard throw). JF1 is also a tick behind on those plays.
The game plan was clearly different for Bagent. I hate to get conspiratorial, but I think Getsy hates Justin Fields. Or at least isn't interested in keeping Fields long term and it's ambivalent about Fields' future as a Bear
What's the over/under on how many weeks it takes for the other 31 teams to figure out that Badgent can't throw? 1.5?
It amazes me how Chicago media and some fans simply cannot praise good play, regardless of if it's simplicity or complexity. It's never that the Bears played well, it's mostly the other teams that played poorly. If you listen to other podcasts of average teams in the league that never won a Superbowl or ever did anything in the playoffs, I'm jealous of the pride they have when hearing them talk about their team.

You have to challenge Justin more than Bagent as he has had 2 years in this system. If Justin can get that short game down and faster release he would be way better. But if he can’t do that he will be good but never great. Most of Fields issues are his quickness to read not his raw talent. Still some coaching issues like time out in 2 minute and placing Peterman in for any reason before garbage time. OL Tevin Jenkins makes everyone better.
This is 100% the Hoge and Jahns i needed to watch this morning, calm measured conversation about what we saw yesterday. I love CHGO but that was wayyyyyyyyy too overwhelming yesterday, i get being excited but from one week to the next is like lets go to every extreme and start yelling/freaking…i needed this show 🙂 thanks guys

Every time I hear people complain out "conservative football" and "game managers" …It strikes me as a bunch of un-cool people that are desperate to be cool.
Although I hate the idea. I think they could trade either QB for a really good draft pick to a team hurting for a QB with a more built up team. We still need a lot of players maybe a first in 2 years. It is nice to have a second string who may be a good one. More evidence needed. PT Willis forever.
The Bears constructed a Shanahan style roster and finally played a Shanahan game. The Style usues 2 TE and 2 RB or FB/RB sets and with Fields it's 11 or 12 personnel which is only 1 RB or TE. I don't understand why you build a Shanahan roster but dont use the personnel. Stop trips, stop spread, run the ball more, and use more 22, 21 personnel. Getsy's game plans seem to set up Fields to fail. With Bagent, he used 21 and 22 personnel groups.

The bears simplified and made an offense for bagent and he executed. Why can't they do that for fields. Not saying fields doesn't have his issues but week after week I just feel he's immediately in an uphill climb with poor game plans
Bagent is better at playing QB than Fields. And here's a little secret that you Fields cultists won't like to hear: The Bears locker room knows it. The team loves Bagent. They love and respect JF1 too, because he is a good guy, warrior, and an elite athlete, but Bagent has a different vibe. He has a moxie that is beyond Fields, just listen to the guy speak. This is like Sunshine in Remember The Titans. In that movie, the team liked their original QB too, but once Sunshine came in it was a different level and a different moxie.
A white guy throws for 162 yards and they act like he’s the second coming, a black guy throws for 300 and sets the bears all time record for consecutive passes and 2 weeks later they say trade him… looks a little suspect to me.
Its a tuff decision for you guys to decide, i promise you its not tuff for the bears.

Tyson IS a better QB…just doesn't have the legs of Fields and that great arm. He WILL be a starter in this league and it probably won't be here.
Oline has too many up and down weeks!! NO consistency! Game planning is a JOKE!! It's like Getsy puts up three gameplans on the wall and throws a dart blindfolded!!!
Getsy actually "Planned" a game half ass correct!! Dumbed it down, ABC plays, 2 reads, 5-10 yd passes, the Oline had an UP day, and the defense was REALLY good!! So, YOU can christen Bagent QB1, but im a JF believer, when he has "decent" protection, he's way better than Bagent! I "like" Bagent, hes a capable BACKUP, but Cmon, him over JF??! Getsy NEEDS to learn how to plan for a QBs strenghts, not make QBs play like Rodgers!
Hoge, They ABSOLUTELY dumbed it down!! Cmon, Coach, look at the tape. Im NOT knocking Bagent, he did his job well, but he got the "good offensive line", quick plays, and they POUNDED the rock!! If we move off Fields we'll regret it!! Imo
