Brandel's comments are ridiculous. We all know what MBS did to Khashoggi was disgraceful. Nobody condones or disputes what he did. But that has nothing to do with anything. Are people going to stop buying iPhones, since parts are made with slave labor and child labor in China? No. Are we going to boycott every country in the world who has engaged in barbaric behavior? No. Anyway, I was never really a fan of LIV. But I think it is now turning out to be a big positive. The purses have gone thru the roof on the PGA Tour. And with the new schedule with all the designated events, we have tons of great fields. I really think Brandel has made a complete fool of himself with his over the top histrionics. If he doesn't like LIV, that's fine. But his reaction has been way over the top and frankly a bit unprofessional, in my opinion.

Brandel, is articulate, intelligent and unvarnished. He knows the history of the game and feels strongly about the legacy of the game. In my opinion he’s absolutely correct in his assessment of where the game is today and the passion he feels is admirable.

The longer I watch the more I realize how completely out of touch with reality Brandel is
If you know the history of the game and the PGA Tour you know where Brandel is coming from. FIGJAM, the knickname says it all. Great player. Loved by everyone that hated seeing Tiger totally dominate the game. Love to hear what Jack really thinks about Phil, but I think I know already.
Who is a great Saudi sports icon or hero? I wouldn't have a clue. Laurence of Arabia was English. If you have no sports heroes, why not just buy some. The Saudi PIF could buy the NFL 3x over. Would you care if Jerry Jones sold them the Cowboys? No, but I'd be mad as hell if they bought the Raidhas.
Chamblee is not a moral leader – x golfer now analyst – entitled to his opinion like everyone else – thing is Brandel why criticize pro golfers 4 signing – playing with other golf entity – seems elitist – seems Brandel is telling others whats good 4 them – perhaps retire from golf – go into politics – become a DA so to prosecute murder – til then just talk golf not world order of morals !

Surely Brandel knows that the PGA was going to go bankrupt, and still might, if they don't get this merger done. He touches on it but PIF money is everywhere and his disdain for bad money stops when the PGA tour and sponsors are using their Chinese relationships for cheap products or Mexican money in the manufacturing of products like Callaway and Taylor Made etc…. The market, as he says, has driven the price of professional golfers and it is dictated by what the market will pay them. Call it what you will, sports washing or blood money, or realize that Phil was right and money was not being used the way the PGA claimed it was. They also were not upfront with the players. It's not the players' tour. It's a business run by a handful of well paid people and they made the saudi deal without the players' committee's knowledge.
Great interview. I am not in lock step with all of Brandel Chamblee's opinions. But, I appreciate his process, passion and opinions. I agree 100% with his thoughts on LIV and where the PGA could have turned, versus where they turned. LIV, Saudi's and Greg Norman are NOT going to be caretakers of the game
Brandel is talking against LIV because the Golf Channel is a rightsholder of the PGA tour. Pro golfers are independent contractors and have been playing all over the world for years. There are atrocities in every country, especially in the middle east. Players go to Dubai and are paid for appearance, they have similar rules and laws about religion, women and gays. As soon as the PGA tour found out that Greg Norman was the face of LIV the PGA went crazy. As long as the Pro player met the minimum tournament obligation, they should have been left alone. Each golfer makes his or her own decision on what is morally correct and Brandel should take that stance.

Brandel has been living in Brandel-ville for quite some time now.
This guy is so jealous of Phil it's unbelievable..
No we don't chop journalists up, we just try to throw our political opponents in jail.
This is nothing but subjective hypocritical virtue signaling. A great example why sports commentators need to stay out of politics and keep their biases to themselves.
If Brandel is so concerned about the Saudis and other countries then why not call out the tour and all of the corporate sponsors who do business with those countries? Is he ready to go on air and point out those companies? Is he ready to point out the tour has had a major presence in China and call out the human rights abuses over there?
My only problem with Brandel is his stance on LIV and the Saudis. He's right up there with Ben Crenshaw with his knowledge of the game and it's history. What I'll never understand is why in the world would he give RBC a complete pass. The RBC sponsors two PGA Tour events and gets all the accolades for that. But the RBC was instrumental in bringing the Saudi Royal families own company Aramco (richest company in the world) to the stock market. And that came after the death of Jamal Khashoggi. Why doesn't himself and the PGA tour stop associating with The RBC. Not one person has ever brought that to light and it just seems so hypocritical.
