  1. As a Serb I love this guy, very humble great player still very young but mature for his ages! Hope he’ll stay healthy and dominate tennis in years that comes! 👍

  3. Carlos has great skills and talent on the courts, but he's not mature, maturing is figuring out the match yourself and not looking to your box on every fault or point won; he needs to humble himself and know he can, will be, and has been beaten; if he's losing a point he gets upset but when he's winning all smiles; amazing how everyone wants to lift and give him these acceulades, until he reaches Federa, Nadal, and Novak, then show the maturity which I'm glad he's realizing.

  4. Some of these questions, man. Correct answer to how long will this loss stay with you?
    “16 days 9 hours and 42 minutes.”

  5. I did not watch this match, but judging by the highlights it seemed "off" to me. Alcaraz seemed sluggish and one step slower, to me. Maybe it was because Medvedev was playing so well. I don't know. Let's see what happens with Novak and Daniil.

  6. In my 7 decades on this planet, I have never seen a more inspired, gifted and exciting tennis player than this extremely humble, brilliant and delightful young man. No tennis player, no matter how great, wins every match they play, and today was not to be Carlitos' day. Such is life! Having said that, Carlitos is already my favourite player of ALL TIME bar none!

  7. This time we love Carlos Alcaraz accept defeat against Medvedeved hoping he will improved more talents

  8. Typical absolute garbage journalism from the New York Times. Shameful publication, shameful so-called journalist.

  9. the fact that some people can dislike this kid is crazy. He is a star and handles himself so well.

  10. With this kind of level headed thinking at such a young age, …. I have no doubt he will win many GS.

  11. I know its all fair game, but difficult to watch them grill him after such a tough loss, that he has not begun to process. He says I need to get better… very hard to take, when you work so hard. He already is, he just needs to learn to not let not so nice players ( to say the least) get under his skin.

  12. As a huge Nole fan, Alcaraz has posed problems. Yet after seeing his run this year and his class, I can’t help but root for him. I’m still on Novak’s side, but the second he hangs up his racquet, I’m all in on Alcaraz as the next best thing in tennis. Although, I like Med too – hopefully we see a new set of rivalries emerge. Just as long as Ben Shelton isn’t part of it, I’ll be happy.

  13. From tomorrow the real number one in the ranking will return to being number one, not like the one who had essentially become number one for non-tennis reasons

  14. The game is already requiring from him to play more with his mind rather then pure talent, power and instinct. He has already got the mental game, the next step seems that he will learn to play out of the comfort zone, more awkward tennis, I would say the same school the big 3 went through, although much later in their carriers. As a Nole fan, I wish he would take it just a bit slower 😀

  15. I'm glad with the triumph of Medvedev , also therefore that Alcaraz has lost , and then understands that any other player could win him.

  16. You have to like Carlos even more after this interview. What humility, self-awareness, and respect! Amazing!! Thank you, Carlos!!!

  17. We should compare this press conference, released by the possibile future Goat, with Shelton's..a stunning Champion Vs just an inflated balloon…find the difference

  18. He has to be a inspiration for next generations not Shelton, who proclaims himself, with no atp titles at 21 years of age

  19. Not only mature on court but also off it. Carlos is a champion. Champions are not determined by wins alone but also their defeats.

  20. They're pushing this kid too hard and too fast. He's only 20. He has plenty of time. If they keep pushing he will walk away.

  21. He will be Novak's heir once he retires. Will be the best player in the 2020s for sure. Next year will be unreal for Carlos

  22. Carlos, if only you were not so eager to show off your skill and focus 100% on the games, you would not have lost to Medvedev and maybe you would have won the US OPEN. I hope you learned the lesson hard.

  23. Medvedev is basically a defensive base line player, he hits hard topspin and deep shots to engage his opponent to the baseline with his game plan so that Alcaraz has no chance of playing drop shots. Alcaraz was trapped into playing Medvedev's game plans. Alcaraz should have done his homework on every player he's gonna meet and be prepared to change strategy when necessary. In this case, he should hit the ball away from Medvedev and move in to challenge him at the net. Aggressive net plays and serve and volleys will give Medvedev a lot of pressure to his tall body frame.

  24. Love Carlos even more after this press conference. He was off unfortunately on a day like this with a player like this. He'll keep growing and developing. Amazing self-awareness.

  25. During the game he got broken, I knew when he had that last ad and through up prayer hands that he would lose. He was desperate because of physical exhaustion. Med saw and knew he had him then when he knew he just needed to hang on for the next few mins.
