Toronto FC looked liked the team they were supposed to be at the beginning of the season against Philadelphia Union last night. Herdman was in the stands with family watching the game. The TFC players all of them know that they are auditioning right now to give John and management a reason to keep them on the team. I hope the improved play continues and that this was not just a one off game against a tired Philadelphia team.
At times, Herdman was what Canada needed. Other times, his lack of experience and saying the wrong thing at the wrong time in the wrong outlet really hurt the team. If he can learn from his mistakes, his future is bright
Herdman still in the CANMNT dream. Wake up John you should talk about Insigne, Bernardeschi and Tough season this year. When are you start up your new job. Why commencing October 1st. You are not ready for he tough job. I doubt you will survive well
Maybe Herdman is giving Terry more of an opportunity coaching the first team before he steps in? The season is pretty much over at this point, so what's the harm for Terry to get a bit more experience? Also, John gets another month of planning for TFC before taking over the helm; win, win.
Andi Petrillo you may want to reconsider how you refer to Insigne and Bernardeschi. Referring to them as a group “the Italians” is inappropriate to put it mildly. They are individual players. They did not come here as a package. They came separate and they have their own ideas, behaviors and challenges…. Or else let’s start grouping everyone
I think I know why he isn't starting until October 1 I think that the board of directors at MLSE don't want him to go on a big losing streak and not win the fans over. I think if he only had a handful of games left starting October and he lost all of them fans wouldn't be so upset. I really think this is a strategic move by MLSE.
Hmmm! IMHO the Team Chemistry during the World Cup wasn't quite where it needed to be, especially in that GROUP OF DEATH they got stuck into. Maybe untimely injuries were part of it and the money side of it skewed things along the way too. So as Herdman said, there were things that happened that were out of his control and he had to do the best he could. Of course Croatia was a terrific side and the cheeky opening goal by Davies gave us some early hope! Belgium was a teaser as Lukaku being out is like them being a goal down before the opening whistle blows, darn good game but we needed near perfect team chemistry and a clinical finish on the missed free kick to tie or maybe even win. I saw Morocco lose with a poor coach and a weak side 3-0 to the USA …so I was hoping that same team would face Canada…unfortunately for us they did a fantastic job. Riling up Croatia didn't help…they were outstanding past the 20 minute mark! After the WC things didn't get better and as all are saying…maybe this is a great time for a change, both for Herdman and the CanMNT!

Herdman was a massive success for both soccer programs. The best manager ever for canada. He deserves the opportunity to turn TFC around.
Canada talent did a lot of good. His poor adjustment skills was Hermann downfall.
