The best auction advice I can give you is to set a budget for each of the position groups.
I don't know what all your position groups are but if its a pretty standard league the breakdown would be something like this:
QB ~ 10% of your cap
RB ~ 40% of your cap
WR ~ 40% of your cap
TE ~ 10% of your cap
If you have kickers, defense, or if its 2 QB/Superflex, adjust the percentages accordingly.
Your mileage will vary on the percentages, adjust to where you are more comfortable.
For the first few rounds, when it's your turn to nominate a player, nominate someone who will go for a high $ amount that you DON'T want. This way you're chiseling down your opponents budgets early on.
There's always going to be a point towards the end of the auction where you'll get good value players for a couple dollars.
The budgeting advice from @Waylon is essential too.
