I can see why Tel has an air of resignation every time he plays against you. Your “Hail Mary” putts can demoralise anyone. I expect Olly’s starting to sympathise with Tel.

If the 3 iron has 18° loft…. And over 39" length…. Then you carry it with like a 19° 5wood . This modern clubs worry about the reality. My old bladed 2 iron has 19 loft and 37 length and would have been my selection. But if don't hit the sweet spot I'm maybe only 180 long…. But the goods with this 2 iron is, that i can prepares a bread with butter with them for me because it's small like a knife… Yesterday i saw a yt clip with 3 dp world tour players (larazaball, willet and?) who did famous shots from the past. They had to hit at belfry the green Ballesteros hitted in the ryder cup with a persimmon driver. It was fun to watch! At the end Willet won with a shot 5 feet from the pin… They all also used a old persimmon wood. That maybe would be a nicely contest for Joe the pro, James and Paul maybe…. If you need a persimmon driver therefore, i have a nice old Cleveland wood… I send you if you want.
But nowhere i watch your scramble contest to the end and i think you Dan and James will do it.

Its crazy, I have all these courses on my doorstep, 15 min drive away, yet I cant play them as they are too exclusive for the everyday person. Dan, do you think paying £200-£300 for a round of golf is expensive, if you want to join its a huge "commitment fee" and you need to know and be recommended by 6 people. Golf is great, lovely courses just frustrates me not being able to enjoy what you have nearby
