  1. So if you're cross-eyed dominant (right-handed – left-eye dom) should you tilt your head to the right a bit present the sight picture of dom eye?

  2. Looks like I'll be wearing an eye patch during my next round. I'm ok looking like a pirate if I'm able to shave some strokes off my game.

  3. Hey Tom, I would like to see you use a go cam headset and show the club head hitting the ball. This would illustrate the dominant eye better but also how important it is to “keep your head down” adage.

  4. Something I noticed a long time ago but never knew what to do about it. I'm right eye dominate. If I close my left eye and take a backswing keeping my head relatively still but still letting it move my nose will block the view of the ball. Taking the club back more inside seems to prevent this. I do suffer from the random push.

  5. I'm right handed and left eye dominant – and I'm still c**p! 🙂 Will try shutting my right eye but I suspect shutting both will give the best results.

  6. I’m a way better shooter than a golfer. I am right handed and left eye dominant. I shoot with a piece of opaque cellphone tape over the left lense of my shooting glasses. Where it effected me was putting. I now putt with the ball forward in my stance and my head a little behind the ball in a stance similar to Jack Nicklaus.

  7. Tom…nice, insightful video that few teachers will ever talk about. If I could, can I ask about your hands at the top of the swing, thru impact: do they feel "passive"? Or, in your opinion, the "passive" feel will eliminate the dreaded flip and over-rotation?

  8. Well i have a problem and i would like a solution so that i could benefit from this. I am almost blind on my left eye and i am therefore right eye dominant. If i do the exaggeration (using left eye to look) that you demonstrate in the video i cannot see the ball at all.

  9. I am right handed cross eye dominant and had to develop a head tilt when shooting pistols and keeping both eyes open. With enough repetition now as I draw my head tilts automatically and by the time I am ready to shoot even with a fast draw the double vision is gone. I just started playing golf this year and have been shooting for sport for years and always thought cross eye dominance was a major drawback. It turns out now that I have the golf bug it's finally an advantage! Great video as always Tom!

  10. I noticed on videos of my swing that my head tilts to the right (looking like you do out of my left eye at the ball). I also know that I'm right handed and right eye dominant. I was going to ask my coach about that tilt of my head away from the target to see if that was a bad thing. This is a very interesting video and likely explains why I'm doing so.

  11. never looked down and seen 2 club faces looks the same with right eyed closed or both open

  12. Tom, I started playing Golf this year and about 2 months ago started practicing at least once a week to try and get better. I’m a very poor golfer. It became very obvious that many golf videos on youtube are either hacks to fix hacks or just bad advice. I’ve really enjoyed your content and decided to only follow your Instruction. Only trying to improve one aspect at a time. I went from a 124 to a 101 on one of my local par 74 courses. There was only 3 weeks in between those two rounds. I look forward to more practice and improvement. Thank you for your content!

  13. these guys are getting depserate now as theyre running out of things to tell us… next week look left pmsl

  14. Phffft… try wearing an eye patch through a round of golf and you will soon learn you cannot judge distances.

I’m 20/20 in both eyes, but only see out of one eye at a time. I’m left eye dominant. If I force myself to look out of both eyes, I get double vision. Naturally, the brain knows this isn’t right and shuts down the right eye. As a boy, I wore glasses to blur the vision in my dominant left eye so I would retain the vision in my right eye. Today, my brain switches back and forth.

As a result, I do not see 3D. To me, that golf ball is a flat disc laying on the ground. I hit thin, fat, divot, no divot, whiff, etc. I explain this to golf coaches and they have no clue what I’m talking about or how to address it. My best option is to keep my lower body as still as possible in attempt to get consistent contact.

So Tom, I only have one question; where do you get your golf shorts? I can never find shorts that are long enough.

  15. Huh, I always thought I was over swinging when I did that move. To add to the fun. I am right handed (semi ambi) and left eye dominant.

Edit the reason I am left eye dominant I can't for the life of my wink my left eye.

  16. Well Tom, tanks for a great tip that I’ve never heard of. 👍 I’m going out this morning and will try this “new” idea. I’ll comment when I get back later today 🤞

  17. Nicklaus, Miller, and Player are all lefties with dominant left eyes but they play "right handed". You should have stayed left handed. Most lefties naturally play right handed. Why do we call it right handed? Because a pitcher sees the batter on the right side of the plate and they declared those batters "right handed". My first golf lesson pro told me that golf is mostly a left handed sport. Most natural right handers should walk up to the ball on the right side. As a lefty, I walk up to the ball on the left side, I start my grip with my left hand first, my left eye looks straight down at the ball, and my left shoulder gives me the power as I pull my swing toward my left. That is a left handed swing. Baseball messed the whole thing up when they called a batter standing on the right side looking at the pitcher a "right handed batter" when he is actually a left handed batter.

  18. 1. I can't putt for sh1t so being cross eyed sounds like a lovely excuse
    2. An eye patch means we can all be wearing our pirate outfits and pivoting around our wooden legs..
Arrrr it be crispy Tom lad! 🏴‍☠️🦜… Go fetch my rum and that sliced 4 iron ball in the neighbours garden….! 🤣

  19. If your eye is sabotaging your game, I don't recommend removing it with a pointy stick… Use a clean kitchen knife at least… 😂

  20. For the low price of $19.99 you can get a Saguto branded eye patch. Limited supply! But wait, there’s more…..

  21. I’m “left handed” in golf, I don’t know why it’s called that. All my weight is on the right foot, my right hand is my dominant lead hand, my right eye is over the ball. I think they got the names mixed up 😂

  22. I have the opposite problem RT side swing LT eye dominate. Lining up putting I have to use my LT eye or I'm 8 to 12 inches off base on length similar to Jack Nicolas!

  23. Hey Tom! Where exactly are you looking during address? At ball, certain side of ball, behind ball etc? Appreciate your help as always!

  24. Hi Tom
Off topic, would it be wrong to preset my right leg strait(as rt handed golfer) at address, beside the weight shift to my left leg?

  25. Glad you did this video, I've noticed for a while you were tilting your vision perspective in your videos. I will go try this at the range, see how/if it applies to me. Thank you for another great video.

  26. So…If you're right-eye dominate and go to lefty clubs, would that also fix the issue? And if so, would it fix it better than compromising head position at address?

  27. Hey Tom,
I wanted to update you on my scoring progress and I just shot an even par 35! I truly can’t thank you enough for all of the tips that you have given on the channel that have helped me get rid of all that I learned from in person lessons that only hurt my swing.
    Thanks
    – David
