  1. Don’t like limited field events. Miss the Friday afternoon cut struggle. Will miss discovering newer or lower ranked players in the early rounds. Do we want to see a struggling player implode Thurs/Fri and then limp through the weekend because there was no cut? Does the tournament even need to be four rounds? Also, noticed they got rid of the team event and the match play. So much for doing different things.

  2. Ugh 😵‍💫. Blah. Blah. Blah, blah blah blah blah blah That sums it up. Thanks for having me on…why no cut…..will Damian we our broke, and we r tying to stay afloat. If it weren’t for LIV , we’ll you know. What about these past sponsors, where r they. They’ve left. Because the pga golf tour is a mess……😮

  3. Bottom line is they are simply throwing money at these events to get the top players playing more regularly. Will it feel any more special watching or indeed winning one of these events over a regular event? I am not so sure it will whereas the WGC events did truly feel a bit more special – they should never have ditched that format.

  4. Reduced fields – no cuts – sounds like Liv Golf — guaranteed players for sponsors and broadcasters — however most of the interesting players are on LIV
if the rumoured private equity gets involved and matches the money from PIF — what will tour do IF LIV then targets 4/5 top players again and strengthens their offer but weakens PGA further

The money that PIF is throwing at all Sports – eg Football or Soccer in states — one player over $700million one year

Golf PGA and LIV would be better working together – the LIV events are different times to PGA tour in the Main – new markets like Australia which were neglected by PGA
if they worked together – which by these changes appears unlikely — both tours would prosper and a half dozen events in addition to Majors could be available to all – what the public wants

In addition as per the released court papers – the PGA in effect owns the DPTour 100% — if private equity involved — cuts will be made – already seen by next years schedule and the departure of Andy Pazder on a reported $2 million annual package
Where does that leave the DPTour — with promised PGA funding ?
