First downs matter. ARSB caught the 3rd most last year. In a lot of situation they went to him when most teams would go to a TE or a rb. This year his route tree should be a bit more open because he wont always have to be the security blanket.
And you are wrong about Goff not throwing him open. You need to watch the film on a lot of those clutch catches. Goff throws the ball when ARSB looks covered the ball is thrown and then he breaks and catches the ball. Ultimately it takes a WR that can make that catch, but a lot of QBs aren't pulling the trigger on those throws.
