WCW nWo World War 3 1998 features the annual 60 man battle royal. This year the winner goes on to Starrcade 98 to face World Heavyweight Champion Bill Goldberg, and names in this year’s battle royal include previous winners Scott Hall and The Giant, Lex Luger, Dean Malenko, Alex Wright, Kevin Nash, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio and Booker T.

Bret “Hitman” Hart looks to get his US Championship back in the main event when he faces Diamond Dallas Page. Bret put Page on the injured list a few weeks back, but Dallas returned on this week’s episode of Nitro to confirm he will be part of the World War 3 main event. Other matches on the card include Glacier vs Wrath, Bobby Duncum Jr vs Chris Jericho, and Billy Kidman vs Juventud Guerrera.

  1. Complaining about WCW before Russo came in, really? this series is about to feel the wrath of Vince vs Vince real soon.

  2. Did anyone here ever play Promotion Wars back in the day? This channel is REALLY bringing all those memories flooding back!

  3. Stevie's kick on K-dog was a kick to the chest not to the head. So he delivered he did not miss.

  4. Seeing WCW fall apart at the seams week-to-week while the WWF bolster their mid-card, tag and main event scene weekly is so, so, so hard to watch lol you can tell WCW had no real direction after Starrcade 97.

  5. It's interesting seeing the downfall of WCW again. There's a lot of things that I'm remembering, but there's a lot of things that I'm also seeing and being like I don't remember that. So it's a nice trip down memory lane. WCW had all the tools in the world. They had the talent, but they didn't utilize it. It was all about egos.

  6. After the brilliant story telling of Survivor Series 98, WCW had a week to prepare, so there is no excuse to have so many matches with no build and more that one that doesn't even happen. Things will only get worse for them in the next couple of years.

  7. WCW felt so stale by late 1998, it’s like turning a switch. Same with WWF it was a slow build then poof they can do no wrong.

  8. To have a really great match you need the crowd to be in there with the wrestlers, bret/page would have worked so much better if the fans hadn’t given up at that point and started to go home.

  9. The Bret Hart "Brass knucks that don't like brass knucks, but we will call them brass knucks anyway" recurring joke is one of my favorites.

  10. World War 3 i believe was WCW's answer to the WWF's Royal Rumble. Plus you know Nash had his hands all over that battle royal based on how strong he looked in that match with him throwing out nearly all the wrestlers in his ring.

  11. That LWO Mysterio angle was stupid. If Eddie beats Ray then Ray has to join. Literally the next Sunday, Eddie says to Rey “you have to decide right now if you’re in or you’re out.”

  12. It’s almost like Brett went into wcw like how stone cold came into wwf .. beefing with everyone til he get his shot lol .. I never liked wcw but watching reliving the war has me realize how much I missed on the other side

  13. My nephew used to make fun of me for liking wrestling and he'd always sing "Wolfpack back here to suck tour ballsack" lol

    I fuckin HATED HIM lol

  14. 21:15 I was so excited for this part of Reliving the War because I knew it would cause people to reevaluate Bret’s WCW run.

  15. Another awesome upload from the wrestling channel with the most jam on the planet!
From here on WCW goes rapidly downhill and keeps falling. Where as WWF keeps going from strength to strength week to week. I think it’s fair to say the war was all but over by the end of 98 start of 99. It will be interesting to see if WCW wins any more weeks in the weekly head to head battle. Between now and going out of business.

As far as the WW3 PPV goes. Fans really wanted to see Hall VS Nash. The main match itself was WCWs answer to Royal Rumble. However, much like WCW by this point, ended up being an overbooked mess.

  16. Sadly, they botched the 60 man elimination because Kevin was not the winner. Konnan was not eliminated legally at all, especially going through the second and third ropes like that. Little mistakes that were made in the day that somehow passed the idiots in the office at the time which was why WCW went down the toilet just as fast as it became #1…only to go down like #2 being flushed.

  17. Those brass nucks that don't look like brass nucks. But, we'll call em that anyway. 😂😂😂
