Morikawa made a 10-foot putt at No. 12, his fourth birdie in a six-hole stretch that put him within a shot of Fowler, and his 9-footer for birdie at No. 14 pulled him into a tie with Fowler at 23 under.

Rickie Fowler, the fan favorite in search of his first win on the PGA Tour since 2019, entered play with a one-shot advantage at 20 under par over Adam Hadwin and two shots over Taylor Pendrith. Both chasers are Canadians. Hadwin became the fourth player in the five-year tournament to shoot a course-record tying 9-under 63 on Saturday. Pendrith played in the final pairing last year alongside eventual champion Tony Finau and finished tied for second.
