  1. Viewing this show ends when Bourne again tries saying the best GM job in the league is with the Leafs. Could you please wean him off the koolaid because he's tripping. To try and say the GM of a team headed towards 60 years without a Stanley Cup is not a great GM job. Stanley Cup winners are dream jobs. Toronto isn't. Pathetic.

  2. Unfortunately, the team has painted itself into a corner. They have traded away so many draft picks and prospects and really have very little to show for it. Could be a long year.

  3. Honestly….i love Marner.,.but what if trading Nylander may end up being the wrong decision a few years from now. Willy plays decent in the playoffs, no matter which year. Marner has had rough playoff series year after year….he was exposed as very soft and afraid of any contact. Marner is more talented YES….but maybe he just doesn't fit NOW!?…. I dunno….. what we could get for him would surpass what Nylander could get. Thoughts?

  4. #34 is at a place where his new deal will indicate who he generally is, unfair as that may be. He should sign for 12.7 x 4, but have the feeling he will only sign for 13.5. Relatively small 800K difference, but it speaks huge volumes. Should be short term, don't get tied into this guy for too long. His playoff track record is brutal, and I have lost faith that anything will change. (That goes for Marner as well) Sigh… I always keep a bottle of tylenol nearby when discussing the Leafs.

  5. Leafs will never win with these 4 softies, the sooner they realise this the better off will they be.

  6. The move should be clearing every cent of Marners contract. Trade him to Arizona for Cooley and their 2 first rounders. Immediately adds assets for future moves and clears $11M

  7. If Willy is playing hard ball we cant afford to pay him $9M+ I would be looking at other teams with similar expiring contracts and add a player with more jam ex. Scheifle is on his last year and would give us that big forward who would play with that edge when it matters most

  8. Be honest what do you think is really going to happen. It’s time for this team to think and then act. Trade who you need to trade. It’s not the player, there are players out there you can get to make a better team. I have been a fan for 69 plus years it’s time to go!!!!!

  9. Trade Mathews , he is a cancer for team, He is a selfish and not a team player. CAP killer!!!!!!

  10. Matthews shouldn’t make Mackinnon money, Mackinnon shouldn’t even make Mackinnon money…the only player that deserves to be up that high is Mcdavid

  11. Well Brad go with core 4 one more year but Mathews And Nylander to take decent contracts at 5 years to share around the team for a top four Defenceman and a solid hard nose 5th defenceman to make it more heavier for the playoffs on defence to have a better chance to win the Cup.

  12. Nylander had 40 goals last year and what can you get to give you 40 goals from others players to more scoring they can score ,the problem is the defence not to alow more scoring from the other team in playoffs and they trader Rasmus Sandin as skilled and to get it moving to his forwards then any defenceman on the team now but his disavantage was his size that led to some of his injuries.

  13. He DOESN’T deserve a raise, he’s done nothing to deserve it; he’s hurt constantly, he had an garbage season last year, doesn’t show up in the playoffs… What exactly does he deserve making 2+ million more for?!

  14. I predict a blockbuster deal btw 3 teams…leafs will trade Matthews. Noway in hell you sign him for 13 million with his playoff history. The guy just can't play in a market like Toronto. Leafs can make the playoffs without him but not if they lost Marner.

  15. Canadian teams account for more than 30% of NHL ticket sales revenue. Calculate what the salary cap is for all 32 teams combined.
30% plus goes to the 7 Canadian teams to split up and the rest goes to the American teams to split up. Also the Canadian players drafted only need to be signed after the same number of years as everybody else.

  16. It's funny to listen to these kids, who have never played or coached a game in a big leagues, and have no clue what they're talking about, act like some kind of experts of what happens inside a pro hockey team:)

  17. Hey we got lots of young talented 5’9 150lb defensive in the minors the numbers say they hold the puck .95 seconds more
