F1 Fashion



Fashion is changing Formula 1. Gone are the days of scruffily dressed drivers and mechanics in dirty overalls, today we have drivers and paddock guests dressed to the nines in haute couture outfits worth thousands of dollars. F1 fashion is a thing! Lewis Hamilton led the charge and the likes of Zhou Guanyu, Lando Norris and Pierre Gasly have also stepped up there game.

On the female front the outfits being worn by paddock guests and fans in general range from bikinis and boots in Miami to outfits you’d see on a Paris runway.

I wanted a woman’s take on F1 fashion so I asked Rachel Cruickshank to join me in this video. She takes a look at a number of outfits from the first 3 races of 2023 so enjoy this video and subscribe to the channel for more F1 fashion updates this year.

    Great video. I can relate! My wife and I are doing Paddock Club at the Montreal GP this year and she made me buy a whole new wardrobe for it – Armani/Boss/etc. LOL. She will probably show up clad in Etro or something else from Madison Avenue. These types of videos are costing me money Kym! So much for all my beloved team gear for that race! LOL

    Kym, appreciate your continuous value add to your channel, for me F1 is more than 20 capable drivers, and “celebrities” love to see more on what makes F1 function. Not sure how possible it is for you to create say a “day in the life of……” visual insight to pit crews, marketing people, catering,/hospitality, Marshall’s, safety crews, unsung heroes …. …

    I find it hard to accept that some of these weird clothes are what we are calling great fashion now! What happened to a tailor made Armani suit for gentlemen? Unbelievable.

    If we have to notice drivers wearing designer outfits (which they probably get for free) for all of ten minutes while they walk from the car to the paddock, I would like a full report on every brand Kym Illman is wearing for his long day of work, from head to toe, down to the socks and underwear. It's just as important.
