The Battle for the Crystal Axe is not your normal corporate golf tournament.
Yes, the parking lot will be filled with big trucks. Sure, there will be plenty of baseball hats with sunglasses riding on the brims, and various vices tucked neatly into lips. And, yup, it’s a scramble format.
But The Battle for the Crystal Axe is something far bigger. Simply put, the Battle for the Crystal Axe is a Border Battle for Better.
This June, the best and brightest and some of the biggest names from the University of Wisconsin and the University of Minnesota will descend on The Club at Lac La Belle in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, to see who is worthy of drinking from the Crystal Axe.
By design, the Battle for the Crystal Axe is a team event (dress accordingly), with each foursome looking to take home the Axe and each state looking to support an important cause bigger than themselves. They say the Stanley Cup is the hardest trophy to win in all of sport. Well, we’re going to see about that as an exclusive, invite-only field of just 80 golfers duke it out for the first annual Battle for the Crystal Axe.
