The best possible selection. We have the talent but NN didn't develop. This could even transform our bench. Sergio was on the elder side and too involved in Euro basketball. Maybe he'll get another chance when eventually another team goes bust.
Kenny Atkinson was too much of a gamble with just mediocre BKN seasons. Darko is our guy. He can do wonders for this Raps team.
Signing Drako signals the high possibility of some kind of retool. The 3rd pick might be in play boys.
I think Siakam will get traded next week to the Blazers. Can’t see us giving up OG given his age and Darko is known for player development he could unlock OG into a Kawhi like player. I’d like to see Siakam for Simons and the 3rd. Looks like Miller will go 2 so hopefully we land Scoot. Scoot, Simons, OG, Barnes and Poeltl with Trent as our 6th man. Low key that could be a 6-8th seed.

Great hire. I like the Pascal to Portland trade for the 3rd and their young guard, even juice up the offer and see if they will back off their no trade Sharpe position. Pascal's future 190 million future contract off books and almost all our major pieces at or inder 25. This would be a dynamic young team with a high ceiling. Add a sign and trade for Fred for more young talent would be a bonus.

i think it's a good signing but i don't think it's with the intention of a "win now" mentality. i think raptors are fucked and have to face a harsh rebuild, however, they could get nice rebuild pieces if they play it right. but in the past they've tried to do too much of both sides. and that's what led to the disappointment. it's one or the other, not both. For example, trading Powell for Trent (a younger developing piece) but then not trading Lowry that same deadline when you could have got Maxey or Herro???? Instead, waiting for next year? Second example, not trading OG or anybody else at last year's deadline, but trade a first round pick for Poeltl??? Again, what direction are we going here??? That's what I mean about the Raptors not having a direction.
Less iso and mismatch plays like Nurse lived on. And less reliance on the vets. See more of the young guys, bigs carrying the ball, and picks. Good hire.
