Did the Browns tank in 2017? The answer is a resounding yes. Jimmy Haslem wanted Baker Mayfield so bad, ( Mayfield was on the top of the Browns draft board when Sashi Brown was fired ), that he passed on Deshaun Watson when Watson fell to the Browns at 12 in 2017. Hue Jackson was sacrificed by Haslem for Baker the Faker Mayfield. Remember, it was Jimmy who made the call to take Johnny Manziel in the 1st round. It was also Jimmy's call, to pass on Deshaun, and the tank for the Faker was on. Why do you think Jimmy went so hard after Deshaun when he became available? Passing on Deshaun was a disastrous decision. Now the Browns have 0-16 on their record, because the owner had to have Mayfield. Had the Browns went on and used the selection to take Watson the Lombardi would already be in The Land. At least Jimmy went all out to make it right.
