Swing Balance Multi Stik w/ a Resistance Band Upright Strict Trunk Rotation

Swing Balance Multi Stik (powered by Tsunami Bar Technology) is a valued exercise tool used to improve mobility, range of motion, flexibility, and dynamic strength & speed. The Multi Stik has been used by Peter Kostis (Tour level golf instructor), Teddy Scott (Scotty Scheffler’s caddy), Wesley Bryan (PGA Tour member), Scott Stevens (Korn Ferry Tour Pro), Dr. Peter Mackay (founding member of Titleist Performance Institute Advisory Board), Justin James (World Long Drive Champion) … among others.

Most every sport requires the ability to create stability during unstable conditions … Enter, The Swing Balance Multi Stik (SBMS). Used by itself, or with Tsunami Bar Soft Weights attached, or with a Comfort Grip Strap Easy and a resistance band attached … the SBMS is an effective, light weight, mobile device than can improve your fitness and your game.

This video features the SBMS combined with a Comfort Grip Strap Easy and a resistance band. Anchor points can vary to provide different muscular recruitment patterns, but in this video the high anchor position is used and the resistance is positioned at the end of the SBMS outside the hand position.

For this exercise, I prefer a high or mid anchor point for the band. Begin by stepping away from the anchor point creating the appropriate band tension for you. Build a stance parallel and slightly in front of the linear line of tension. Grip the SBMS near the ends but inside of the Comfort Grip Strap Easy band attachment. Extend your arms in front of your chest. Key to this exercise is maintaining the relationship between the shoulders, arms, trunk/chest, and bar. In other words, keep the bar in front of your chest throughout the exercise. Don’t swing your arms across your chest. Turn your trunk … ROTATE … keeping the bar in front of your chest. Once you have your stance and the bar is positioned correctly, soft knees and weight balanced between your feet begin turning your trunk toward your lead side (again … TURN keeping the bar in front of your chest). As you turn your weight will shift onto your lead heal. Complete the turn then initiate your turn back to the starting position keeping the bar in front of your chest.

The Comfort Grip Strap Easy and resistance band are sold separately at www.tsunamibarsports.com
