PGA Tour GO AHEAD with HUGE MOVE DESPITE FURY FROM PLAYERS!

PGA Tour have made a HUGE MOVE to No Cut Events Likely Despite Backlash.. But the backlash is brutal!! PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan has hinted the plan will go ahead despite criticism from some players but what the pga tour players, liv golf tour players, DP world tour players, have said is huge and I think we can expect to see some movement!

The PGA Tour is set to push ahead with limited field no cut events in 2024 despite a backlash from some of its players!! One of the PGA Tour’s most radical answers to the threat posed by rival circuit LIV Golf has been the introduction of designated events. There has been a lot of talk from PGA tour players such as Tiger woods and Rory Mcilroy..

Golf tournaments ensure that the best players come together more often and for considerably higher purses! PGA Tour confirmed that some of the designated events in 2024 will be limited field, no cut affairs. It appears Monahan is prepared to push on with the idea of no cut events despite criticism from some players.

We saw Scottie Scheffler VERY honest in an interview and Scottie Scheffler admits he would rather the PGA Tour just “kicked him out of the tournament” if he was playing badly rather than make him play on over the weekend to just keep sponsors happy! This is a huge suggestion that this move and shows PGA Tour GO AHEAD with HUGE MOVE DESPITE FURY FROM PLAYERS!

The reigning Masters champion and World No.2 spoke about his excitement to tee it up alongside World No.1 Jon Rahm and World No.3 Rory McIlroy for the opening two rounds this week. We can see that his excitement is turning into good golf with his fantastic performance on the opening day.

  1. Instead of everyone speculating on potential outcomes if no-cuts are implemented, try it out on a trial basis. Pick three events featuring no-cuts and analyze the results. Decide from there.

  2. When you broaden your view, you realize how insignificant all this PGA , LIV, DP BULL CRAP REALLY IS!
    NOISE, NOISE, NOISE!
Sit back and watch. We don’t all need to have a sided opinion on everything, right? Left?
Remember, the best view comes from sitting on the fence. You can watch the squabbling like a tennis match.
Left…. “LIV IS BETTER BLAH BLAH BLAH”!
Right…. PGA IS BETTER BLAH BLAH BLAH”!
Noise bleed seats…. “We at the DP TOUR play golf too WHINE WHINE WHIMPER”!

  3. PGA are morphing into LIV?
    Couldn't make it up😂

Still believe DP Tour need to accept LIV players? Have a true world tour.

  4. How can LIV not be given world ranking points because they don’t have cuts when almighty PGA is doing the same thing? Hypocrisy in all respects

  5. Wait for it … Jay's next announcement will be they are considering reducing the events to 3 days as the top players will be playing in too many elevated events and want to spend more time with their families!

  6. I’m sorry the LIV players are shooting -16 under in a 3 round event! The LIV players also have get enough points so they can keep their card for next year!

My concern when you have a cut the players generates no revenue to pay his expenses. The caddy still gets pay, the has to cover his travel, hotel, transportation and entry fee. Now if the PGA gave these players money to cover their expenses- that would be fair.

  7. Its hilarious how LIV is supposedly the lesser league, yet they keep copying LIV, so interesting.

  8. READ THIS ALEX…please.

COME ON PGA! They have been in panic mode since LIV golf. WHY THOUGH? PGA to LIV is like F1 to NASCAR. They are different products. PGA/F1 is the elite pinnacle of Golf/Motorsport. Nothing is better! It's a proper, serious sport for the best sportsmen on Earth.
LIV/NASCAR is about instant and constant sensationalised entertainment, big money, on course BBQ, beer, music and half naked screaming fans. Players can choose the LIV career route if they wish, but it will NEVER be the PGA!
So…Just CHILL OUT PGA! Focus on your own ELITE product. Acknowledge the LIV product for what it is, a new entertainment based Golfing Business. With a set 48 players and no-cut format, it can NEVER entertain the idea of having its own world rankings. LIV GOLF is NOT a direct competitor to the PGA, something the PGA really needs to understand.
THE NO-CUT QUESTION: Firstly, WHY? The current format is not broken, the public don't want a no-cut format AND, it will make the game less of a spectacle. Why do you (PGA) think that we (Public) want to spend the last two days of the tournament where literally one half of the golfers are out of form, having bad tournaments, who are maybe +10 +20 and more behind the leading group. Similarly, why do you think a sponsor like Calaway wants to see an extra 2 televised days as one of their sponsored players shoots +20?… I don't want to see out of form, struggling golfers! I even doubt that those struggling golfers want to be there two more days reinforcing their bad drives, chips and putts. ALSO, I would be willing to bet that you have not considered the fact that having no-cut will actually LOWER THE EXCITEMENT of the final two days AND lead to worse scores. 👀 YES!! – by the start of day three, you can always see some wear and tare on the course. Now imagine DOUBLING the number of golfers playing on days 3 & 4! Balls twice as likely to end up in divots on the fairways, wear and tear on and around the greens including twice as many pitch marks, firming and drying of the greens surface from twice the traffic. There's also a slower rate of play with the out-of-form golfers taking much longer each hole.
    ADVICE TO PGA:
    • You are recognised as the number one golfing competition on Earth. There is not one person that will dispute it. It is a fact! Use this fact as your platform. Never forget it! Quote it often! Never ever debate it with anyone! You can't debate a fact!
    • Acknowledge LIV for what they are: A different class of Golfing Event. Your acknowledgement of LIV will definitively seperate the competitions as being in different classes, you as the unquestioned Elite Golfing Competition and LIV as a fun, energetic offshoot of 'Real Golf'. When asked about LIV, use words like it looks fun, a really novel idea, it's like an informal charity day at your local course. And when asked did you see the crowds, why you don't do things like LIV, you reinforce your different level, like, " yes, it does look like fun, but I'd hate see someone miss a cut, lose their card or even a tournament after being distracted by a hooter or a can. As well as trying to win the tournament, the players are fighting for world ranking points. Just one point can have a huge impact on their career. On the PGA Tour, every single shot matters"
    • Your PGA Tournament Format is not broken, do not change it, this traditional format is one of your greatest strengths! (changing it to no-cut will be seen as FOLLOWING LIV. It will completely undermine your biggest asset. The PGA is 94 years old and now more than ever is the time to embrace your roots and your traditions and show steadfast confidence and commitment to real golf. Golf. PGA Tournaments have the same rules and regulations as those used every day on millions of courses by millions of golfers worldwide.
At the top, It's the highest level of professional golf you can play, It's the PGA.

  9. I think there is a 'middle ground' here. Still have a CUT…absolutely but, in the spirit of rewarding those players who tried and failed to make it, the PGA should allow for those players to at least have their expenses covered. They travel, they have accommodation costs, they have to pay their caddies etc. so let them at least put in their invoices for those. It would not detract from the integrity of the game/event…but it would make it easier for some players who are on the borderline. And if they don't need the 'expenses etc' money…they could always donate it to their favourite charity.

  10. I agree that they should have cuts as well. Change nothing format wise. The elevator events would be nice to have the option not to participate if you are ranked in the top 10, or a number that could give a rest to someone like Rahm so he could have enjoyed the Green Jacket a tad longer before jetting off to the next event.

  11. PGA is NOT the best tour today. The PGA has many flaws and they are trying to fix it. The LIV Tour has show us all golfer….be it a player/watcher…how fun and reward a tour is. The PGA Tour and the LIV Tour both have some of the best players on them. Piss on the world ranking crap….if you use that as your bench mark, they you need to have your head examined. Ooooh and all this talk about money is hot hair…every professional golfer player for money as well as the win. Thus that argument is BS.

  12. Wait? Seriously? Are you really surprised about this? It’s ALWAYS been about the money! These guys and the PGA tour are all total hypocrites. I’m done with them until the LIV tour guys are receiving equal treatment in world rankings as these guys. The PHA tours greed has ruined this game. They can’t stand the competition. Totally pathetic.

  13. My God. The PGA drop the ball on this one. What happened to tradition and legacy?. The PGA are trying to ruin both pga tour and LIV golf. PGA is good and LIV is good. The banding of players, thats a stupid move. If these stupid decisions continue the PGA tour will lose alot of fans.

  14. "Top players" come and go. That's the nature of sport. When a "top player" gets older (or just loses it) and can't make the cut, it frees up screen time for a younger player that is playing well. This gives that younger player a chance to get better sponsors. If you don't make the cut, you shouldn't get the TV coverage of your play – but you know they will always cut to a player like Tiger, no matter how far down the leaderboard he might be. If he is there, they will give him screen time.

  15. I still want cuts, but do like the 3 round format. Play 2 rounds, cut, then final Sunday round. Not sure if it's better for the sport, but is better for golfers and their families. I want to see great golfers play more often.

  16. PGA tour is boring to watch Thursday and Friday coverage is like watching paint. The PGA Liv DP tours are fillers between majors because thats all that counts.

  17. Yeah, just like the idea you had when you created your YouTube channels. It was a business decision you made, and you do it for the money. 100% Fact.
