As a Panthers fan, I'm WAITING to see Richardson become a superstar, and those aren't Cam Newton goggles (though I feel they took Young because of Alabama goggles). Young will be a disaster of a pick for this franchise! The coaching staff that the Panthers assembled SHOULD have the ability to get the best out of any QB prospect with all these "gurus", so you take the most impressive player and you mold him. YOU CAN'T TEACH HEIGHT!!!

People harp on Richardson's 53.8% completion % on 327 attempts from 2022 a lot when saying he's inaccurate – just to put it in perspective, if he completed 3 more passes per game, he would've had a 65.7% completion %, which is perfectly acceptable. I feel like the Colts' coaching staff can get him there. I'd look for him to follow Josh Allen's trajectory in his first 3 years – 52.8%, 58.8%, 69.2%. Allen's thrown ~63% in the two years after that and is still considered a top 5 QB.

No one has forgotten Jalen Carter, Peter. He was drafted at #9 when he could have been drafted as high as #2 or 3. He fell further than he should have, so they obviously have concerns with him. Eagles will absolutely get the most out of Carter
I still have figured out why none of these Talking Heads have watched the tape on Richardson. He looked almost totally lost every snap he took. He looked horrible game after game. He gives a rat's ass what he looked like in shorts. What does the tape tell you? It tells you don't draft him as a QB. Now he could be a HoF player. Odds are he won't. He just so broken at playing QB. Nothing about him in pads as a QB works. Nothing. Grats to him if he ever makes it. But aa win now NFL. Will he ever get a chance to ever not stink before he's gone. Probably not. Every team thinks a QB needs to be great game 1. Forgetting QBs like Rogers sat for 3 years.

Colts have to play AR and find out so they can get back in the draft for the next years best if they have to. The issue is that the afc is so good, you may have a bad year and still not really know about AR.
Spending a top 5 pick on a guy who started 13 games, threw complete passes 54% of the time, and has put almost no tape out is not exciting. It's a desperate GM that has 1 last shot to put a legit QB on the roster in the post Luck era. Call it what it is. A hail Mary.

It's this simple: the Colts decided not to pursue a free agent to start in 2023 and to go all-in with a high draft pick QB. Yes, it's a crap-shoot, as are all QB draft picks.
Once they committed to going this direction, and after they got aced by Carolina spending draft capital and moving up to the #1 slot for pick of the litter, it became a question of whether it would be Richardson or Levis.
Yeah, no kidding, Richardson is raw. Richardson only started one season and didn't win every game he played. So what? He's a huge lump of clay for Shane Steichen and the Colts' coaching staff to mold.
Peyton Manning was 3-13 as a rookie starter, with more picks than TDs. Richardson is gonna play and he's gonna get a one year mulligan and the Colts are gonna draft really early next year. #MarvinHarrisonJunior
