Yes, this offense works in the playoffs!

First it was “jump shooting teams can’t win.” Now there are questions about the Kings fast-paced attack and relative inexperience. This detailed film breakdown & scouting report breaks down the classic Game 1 of the Kings-Warriors Western Conference playoffs, exploring how pace, movement, screening, shooting and dribble hand-off attacks are so difficult to stop, even in the playoffs.

  1. This is what Sportscenter should be instead of mostly talking heads about "narritives"

  2. Might be the first time i ever saw golden state break in the playoffs. And it was the freaking KINGS who did it. If you said that to me two or three years ago Id have laughed in your face.

That said, they broke for the game but not the series. Golden State is too comitted and experienced to stay broken for long and could easily win this series.

Its just wild the Kings beat them at their own game. Its also wild the Kings have had the fastest player in the league for this long and it this is the first coach to say, "fastest player? We should play fast then."

Real eye opener and shots fired for the rest of the league tonight.

    Just love great basketball baby.

  3. 5:42 I think you meant "over" the screens, unless I'm misremembering my terminology. Regardless, thanks so much for the analysis, I've learned a lot about basketball by watching your channel.

  4. Brown and Kerr are both the brain childs of this offensive system, that's why this series is going to be an epic battle of athleticism, wits, and coaching

  5. Playin teams won 2 of the 4 games on the road against the much higher seeds. overall ,the road team won 4 of the 8 games (50%). But this GS vs Sac is the game to watch! I think GS is the better team but Sac as the homecourt and that might be enough to win in 6 or 7.

  6. I have never seen a player like Kevon Looney where he is seen as a liability during the majority of the year, and then is praised in the playoffs almost every year for his significant contributions.

  7. bad decision for the warriors when they try to matchup the kings pace, warriors are not used to the opponent controlling the pace of the game.

  8. Kings are winning the series i have been saying this from the start they look like 2015-16 dubs. Imo kings are winning in straight games or by game 6.

  9. This is why when people say that today's basketball is "soft" and "no defence" and say that 80s and 90s basketball would own the nba today… don't watch your videos and analyze the game. Great breakdown!

  10. Kings Are nuggets with poor Man Jokić but more team effort and better chemistry and maybe better players..they Are "upset" team IF not second place in regular

  11. Warriors new contracts might involve never being able to leave Golden State or coaching in the NBA for other teams
    😅

  12. Any offense will work in rhe playoffs when u get 4 phantom foul calls on one possession early In the 3rd quarter casing ur team to be in foul trouble and activating an 11 minute bonus situation

  13. The whole league going 'wait now there's two warriors teams in the west' 😯

  14. Any defensive Play where Poole is involved is bound to fail. And now he does not even score enough. So, how are the Warriors are going to overcome this?
Or can they count on role players like him to perform a lot better at home?!
It looks like the only way through this round is for Curry to play "Lebron" minutes. But 1 – is Kerr probably not interested and 2 Curry not going to insist on it. Even though both games were close it looks like the Kings have to much AND want it simply more.

  15. Omg! I was at work when the game was on. I gotta to back and watch. You make hoops that much more exciting

  16. Mike Brown took them from laughing stock to legit contenders in one season. Now he's schooling a mentor in his first playoff series with the Kings. Most impressive

  17. Excellent analysis – I complain about the NBA a lot – particularly the lazy defense (good lord what is going on at 3:53, our Lord Zeljko Obradovic would never accept such nonsense no matter how tired your are), and the shoddy refereeing which nerfs defense anyway – but these videos are always informative and insightful. Living in the UK means NBA is a pain to watch time-zone wise, and I don't have time during the working day to catch up anyway, so these videos are always great as a way of keeping an eye on what's going on tactically and philosophically beyond generic highlights.

  18. Warriors looking at a mirror you say? Gee i wonder why
cough MIKE BROWN *cough*. its no secret by now, everybody knew since the start of regular season
Mike already implementing Warriors basketball to Kings basketball so its no surprise
