I watch all the other footy podcasts but this is my absolute favourite, Gus is a Legend
Gus scared of Jared lol , Gus walks through bankstown and lakemba at night with gold chains and fresh Nikes on wishing someone would step .
18:00
This is by far the best episode, full of old school wisdom & dinosaur experience. Give us the full history of tackling technique Gus, footy god knows the game needs it disseminated to the younger generations
I would love to see Gus and Wayne discuss the rules
Eels were way over the cap when Semi scored in the first 7 rounds
I skip past the bits where thompson talks, such a better podcast doing that
One on one tackle where it's a legs, waist , or hip tackle, call it a dominant tackle. Gives time for player to be square at marker.
The 5 metre rule would be a good idea they need to look into it
Wish Gus would write a book on the history on league be a great read , no one knows league better ,
Don Gus fears no man
A 1 on 1 waist and below tackle should be a dominant tackle as someone already said.
The speed of the game is 100% the biggest problem with the game. The game is just way to fast for defence and players are getting knocked out because they are constantly scrambling and can’t get in the correct position, every time, 40 times a game
Well youve got 2 people running the Game who have never played the game. Theres the start of the problem
Haha the last thing I thought I'd hear gus talk about is Harry Potter.
How have you never seen Harry Potter. You are living under a rock.
Keith Harris North Sydney centre/ lock 70s 80s.
Gus is hard to please… the footy has been amazing. Especially this early in the season and it's almost finals intensity. All the promos I've seen show mainly tries, noone really cares about anything else. The toughness comes out now in who can handle pressure in a tight game. Exactly the type of toughness that is entertaining. All in brawls and disguised cheap shots are an ugly look and do turn alot of people off.
Guss the footy godfather, wisdom intellect and amusing.
WTF is wrong with Gus at the end. He's getting senile the way he dribbled on there.
Most intimidating-looking NRL players:

James Tamou
David Klemmer
Tyson Frizell
Bradman Best
Semi Radradra

Nelson Asofa Solomona
You are a bloody tripper Gus
Bottom line is,take you're feet off the ground in a tackle,,hip drop, is it that hard Gus
Bring back raking at the ruck, would tidy up the placing the ball on the floor. When I was a kid you’d never dare do that or risk hands kicked or ball lost.
Gus ….equal offense equal defence….the half's don't even need to have iq whole flow of the game is dictated by ref so I guess a halfback is now a glorified field goal kicker
Hug-Ball. Two men make the hug on the attacking player. As soon as the hug is initiated. Ref calls “caught”. Let the 2 guys get into marker position. Play the ball for the next run.
As a Qld supporter,I love Gould as long as he's not coaching the blues lol He knows what he's talking about 👍 our great game has become nothing more than glorified touch football !
I thought the game was going great. Fantastic season and huge ratings. But then I listened to Gus and found out everything is fked and he's the only one who can fix it. Now I'm sad 🤣
"Just when the caterpillar thought the world was ending, he turned into a butterfly." -Proverb
Not long until it turns to touch footy. Give it a few more rounds.
Gus spitting facts. I grew up watching the 90s era, hands down best decade of footy. Tries came from straight-up skill and teamwork instead of quick play the balls and 6-agains
5m rule would work best if it was 11 v 11
Harry Potter is a fucking gun series
To answer one of their questions, I still have a VHS recorder. But then, I am 74; just another dinosaur.
You have gotta luv Gus …
Who cares he is correct all the time and I love listening to him the game is rubbish now
they need to reward the good old fashioned legs tackle , thats the first thing they need to fix
Jarrod Croker is the saddest looking player, followed by Daniel Tupou 😢 never look happy…
Speed usually keeps people awake, that's the 'point' of having it mate..😅
I think the first tackle where they held a player up and had a third man in was a team against the roosters and they were holding Craig Wing up and a third man came in with a massive shoulder charge to his back. Probably the worst one too.😮😮😮
Nice pivot Gus. Said there was nothing wrong with the tackles on 100% footy on Monday but then looked out of touch after the more sensible comments by Freddy. Good face save with the “history of rugby league” monologue today champ
Really hurts. But its great c players needed a start. An now got it.
there's got to be an investigation into the bulldogs training sessions!!
Matthew a real Penrith lad… talking about pirating VHS but plugging together video players.. No way he’s watching Harry Potter 🧹🪄
Whether you agree with him or not, you have to love Phil Gould.
Not many people know him here in the UK but, for me, he's a legend.
