Pilot Luke Czepiela lands an aeroplane on the world famous helipad on top of the Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, the iconic seven-star hotel in Dubai. To land on the helipad, 27m in diameter, he completed over 650 practice landings before the attempt on top of the 56-story hotel. He needed just 20.76 meters to stop. To make the feat possible he and a team of CubCrafters engineers along with renowned American aviation engineer and aircraft builder Mike Patey made a number of modifications to the aircraft, reducing the total weight to only 425 kilograms, moving the main fuel tank to the rear of the plane to allow for more aggressive braking and adding nitrous to enhance power for Czepiela’s secondary challenge – taking off from the helipad.

his takeoff from the helipad was a frickin stall recovery dive 😆🥇🏆
What history? Alaskan Bush pilots been doing this every day for decades.
Me in gta online
I really wish redbull would stay out of aviation. They have proven time and time again to be far to irresponsible. If I do recall, a couple pilots lost their license a couple years ago over a redbull stunt gone wrong.
Pretty cool. What plane is that?
Careful Red Bull. I still remember when you tried to land those commercial jets on the World Trade Center.
You can smell adrenaline from your computer screen when watching this. 😀
Just because it's hard doesn't mean it's worthwhile and just because no one has ever done it before doesn't mean it's not stupid.
The free fall jump from many miles up? That was incredible…
The dude that jumped without a parachute and landed in a net? That was amazing…
This?
Well, it seems to me if you can practice the whole thing by landing on a normal runway and just using a smaller part, it's got the feel of a gimmick that's trying too hard…
Mike Patey is the man!
HEBAT BIN KELAS
I am wondering how will the plane get out of there now.
imagine seeing this while walking in dubai

Your insurance policy must be going through the roof!
Tried this on Microsoft flight sim, can confirm it’s very difficult.
