Scottie Scheffler returns to Austin Country Club to defend his title at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. By doing so, he would become the first person since Tiger Woods in 2004 to do so. The event will see 64 players, split into 16 groups of four compete in a round-robin format. After this, the player with the most points advances to single elimination play. Eight out of nine of the top players in the world with Ryder Cup teammates Jon Rahm and Rory McIlroy both teeing it up in Texas. The Spaniard has been grouped with Rickie Fowler who, despite not winning on tour in over four years could prove a formidable opponent, having made the cut in every PGA TOUR event in 2023. McIlroy won the event in 2015 in which was the last WGC Match Play before it moved from Harding Park, California to Austin, Texas. Other notable names to look out for include 2021 winner Billy Horschel, two-time winner Jason Day and World No. 9 Viktor Hovland.

The top 64 in the world now has many unknowns….well….we all know if you add the LIV players at least 24 of this field would not be playing….
Dang… new Scotty for Rory. Hopefully he can get into a groove with it at Augusta.
That last tee shot was ridiculous even by Rory standards
Long par 5s drive- 5 iron,,,,,driving 375 yd par 4s on the fly…….thats not tradition….its BS
Surprised Rory could stop whining long enough to play the round.
That tee shot was top 3 greatest shots I’ve ever seen
carry is when the ball first makes contact with the ground. so on 18 it was 308 carry not 349.
7:45 / 10:38 is insane
Rory Gilmore
375 to 3 feet. Are you serious? Animal…Wow.
Denny is by far my favourite player. he will have a lot of chances to win majors.
Rory hits the driver, wedge to a par 5, and then complains about the golf ball being rolled back. Hmm..
ONLY 3 SWINGS FROM DENNY MC…SHAMEFUL BIAS. wtf…. Dude was up 3 and they only show 3 shots by Denny.
Intesting how the PGA continues to denigrate past winners from the PGA tour as "has beens" Well Speith choked last week, and Rory can hardly make a putt and has looked pretty ordinary in is last 3 events. I will really being pulling for Dustin at the Masters, the only US organization with any brains to open up their tournament to the best of the best.
Based on the highlights they showed, it was hard to tell if there actually was another player other than Rory in the match
Highlights were pathetic, showed the 2 tee shots at 17 then Rory teeing off at 18,why not show the putts at 17? Not be watching your highlights again 👎🏻👎🏻
We all love Rory but USGA got his accountant wrapped round their fingers
44" driver in Rors bag.
He should be playing with the ball that cuts down yardage. Why wait. Long bombs are boring
Guess the new driver is working out…
This was a very good match! Rors is just an amazing player.
Are you suuurrrreeee you're ok with the ball rollback, Rory?
Imagine if major league baseball allowed hot balls. The sport would also be ruined.
How good is matchplay!
What a drive! Congratulations, Rory!
auhm
What the hell can players do to a guy that can drive almost 1000 ft?!!
1:10 – GetindaHoooooo, ah
Anyone who wants to roll the ball back hates fun
156 yards for second shot onto par 5- time to make balls travel less. Driving par 4 375 yards. Yup BS game.
That drive was so powerful and he's so well balanced. Unbelievable.
Misleading title, should read “Rory highlights” Denny was is to the end how can there have only been so few highlights.
