I'm beginning to wonder 🤔 I'm certainly not happy about what I've been seeing.
what happened at the end of last season and what is happening now are not the same thing. last year the avs were putting in half assed effort at the end as they locked up the number 1 seed in the west and didnt care about the stupid president's trophy. right now they still have not even locked up a playoff spot.
you talk about streaks well they dont have a huge buffer to be dropping games like it doesnt matter

Some of the play of late, especially in the losses, 50/50 puck battles turn into more protection or defense battles, where the Avs player would ease up in board play races making 50/50 puck battle turn into hopefully a turn over. Compher had 2 of them against the Stars one resulting in a goal. Again in the LA game, same thing, certain player easing up from a puck battle, that resulted in another goal, along with some puck luck. I believe this why the 4th line and the 1st line continues to add pressure more often the the other 2, where teams are able to clear their zone much easier and apply pressure on the other end against them line. With their talent, I believe this was the identity that made the successful during the playoff run.
The age old adage of teams not being able to just flip a switch is one of the biggest lies told in sports. Veteran teams can 100 percent flip a switch. The regular season gets boring AF for teams that have been in the playoffs as consistently as the Avs have
Idc what anyone says if avs lose to the yotes I say it's time to panic. Avs can't blame injuries anymore cause they have been able to win with a depleted lineup before and full lineup also.
The problem I feel the avs have is consistency. I thought the win against the sharks would've been a confidence booster but boy was I wrong. Yeah I get it we don't have manson or landy or helm but avs have been winning and losing without them. If anything maybe bednar should switch up the lines. Move Lekhonen to second line with erod to first.
They are pretty average this season.
