  1. Hi Mark Great Video Wedges are the strength of my game 👍, all great info on hitting Half & 3/4 shots with wedges👍, I put the Distances on each Wedge at Half, 3/4, & Full (on the top back of my Wedge Shafts) so when I have a distance to the pin (I can have a quick check) by glancing at the back of the wedge to check the swing I need for the Distance🤔, Thanks Mark, Dickey 9hcp 76year senior golfer

  2. I like to practice and know how far and HOW HIGH a 1/2 or 3/4 shot go with 3h, 5i, 9i, even D go for tricky situations that I tend to get into.
Also practice hitting misses like slice, hook, top, flip, open/closed face, in->out, out->in, straight, late/early release.
Knowing how to hit it wrong helps hitting it right.
I also practice lefty chip shots with an inverted wedge for getting out from the wrong side of a tree.

  3. Hi Mark.

I'm about to get a new set of irons and wedges, first time I'll ever have been fitted and bought new. Question for you on the 50deg wedge:

The set I'm looking at has a 45deg PW, and an optional 50deg GW. But their specialist wedges are available as 50, 54,58, 60 too. I'm definitely going irons all the way to 45deg PW, and deffo having a 54 and 58 wedge. But what should my considerations be when deciding whether to go "iron" 50deg GW or "specialist" 50deg wedge? One blends with the irons, the other with the wedges.

    Guidance appreciated!!!

Great stuff on the half shot by the way. I use the same swing from LW down to 9iron for those half shots, and just choose the club based on 5-7yd increments. And a slight move from the ball being towards front or back foot tweaks my launch angle and stop distance.
