Tim Twentyman is on the road again, this time taking the podcast to Indianapolis for the 2023 NFL Combine. In this episode of Twentyman in the Huddle, presented by Microsoft, Tim is joined by producer PJ Clark as the two discuss the key takeaways from Brad Holmes and Dan Campbell meeting with the media on Wednesday afternoon. The two break down Campbell’s process for interviewing prospects, Holmes’ take on the backup quarterback position and the latest on the Lions’ running back situation before chatting about what the Lions’ goals are heading into free agency in a few weeks. After that, The Ringer’s Ben Solak stops by to use his “Play Sheet” expertise to shine some light on what Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn ran schematically in 2022 and what both the offense and defense may evolve into next season.
Highlights include:
– 0:00-0:25: Podcast introduction

Man this is gonna feel like a long off season
1st
Solak is the best
Appreciate the content. Go Lions.
They are looking for guys that all the other guys will respect and want to have fighting alongside them. Smart, hardworking, cool under pressure and can laugh at themselves.
Ben Solak is great. Love listening to him on The Ringer. Knows his stuff
Super great 👍
I really like that RB from Texas too!
If CJ Stroud is available at 6 you run to the podium. If Bijan is available at 18, see what you did at 6. Those two players can make this the best Offense in the NFL. Think about it. Mix in Avila at Gaurd and the Master Ben Johnson will launch this team to the moon. We won’t need a top ten D, but in two years, with a couple good CB’a and a big run stopper at the nose, and depth at S, and we could see one in Detroit. And when I say one, I mean a silver trophy with a football 🏈 on top.
We need to put Siaki Ika in the spine of that defense!
I love getting PJ on camera, and it felt like Tim was visually gaining confidence in the conversation with him as it went along. By the time you got into free agency at the end, PJ really stood out, and Tim did a great job of facilitating that.
I know it's a weird subjective observation, but it just stood out a bit to me in relation to the interview portion.
How many years are we going to waste with Okudah and Swift on the bench due to injury? Get what you can in a trade and lets move on. It stinks, because Swift is amazing when playing and Okudah was showing what he could be. But we need more then 5 or 6 games from them.
Jalen Carter is going to fall into their laps. Vegas or Carolina trade up with Arizona. The other you need to convince you're high on whoever is left of the QBs. They trade into Seattle's spot. Now you have Carter or Anderson gifted to you. Take the best corner available at 18 and the first 2nd rounder.
Love this podcast keep it up 🦁
We are literally seeing our team change before our very eyes. Seems like things have more of a budget in the media aspect
Everyone deserves a Dan after a Matt
This episode looks CRISPY.
Stetson
there were games last year that the running game disappeared. Whether injuries, lack of explosion, missing solid guard play …THEY got the tapes of all the games …They know what the OL should look like. They know where their depth is going to come from. Running styles …Swift is not best on quick hitters …our TE's were really young for blocking ability …It will be interesting to see
I love how you michigan slappys all say u wouldn't draft Stroud the guy has the best arm and the most complete QB in this draft
Shout out to CHRIS SPIELMAN the MAN in her ear…and the wisdom for her to listen…
