Samsung’s Watch 5 Pro is nearly identical to the Watch 5, but with a few major differences. The question becomes, are these differences worth $170?

ADDITIONAL REVIEW NOTES:
APPEARANCE
40 and 44mm vs only 45mm
5 has graphite and silver in both sizes, plus gold in 40mm and sapphire in 44mm
5 pro only has black and grey
Chunkier Pro model but sportier as well
Hides bezel slightly better, but still not well
Neither have rotating bezel, but GW5 Pro has better finger reference for digital bezel

FUNCTIONALITY
Protected bezel seriously goes a long way. I already damaged my GW5 and my GWA2
Titanium vs Aluminum body
Both have sapphire crystal display but Pro is more durable – 29GPa vs 24GPa
Display sizes are identical for 44mm and 45mm watches
Battery life is nearly double in my experience
25% in a 4 mile run with music on the Watch 4

Same RAM, storage, processor, health sensors, UI,

Software differences? These feel like updates inbound
Track Back
Route loading (can do with Komoot anyway)

PRICE
$450+ vs $280/$310+

Get Galaxy Watch 5 if you want smaller watch, more subtle design, want to save money
Get Galaxy Watch 5 Pro if you want longer battery life and more durability but money is no object. The GPX route imports are nice too, but there are apps that can do that on the non-pro model. Alternatively, the Galaxy Watch 4 may be a great option for many as it has the same chip inside and nearly identical specs across the board but includes a physical rotating bezel

  1. So would the watch 5 and watch 5 pro golf edition be the same as these two except the golf edition gets the caddie app for life. ?

  2. Bitterly disappointed with the battery life of the Watch 5. I bought it because it was neatly sized and cheaper. Now I wish I just got the Pro, I seem to be forever charging it wirelessly from my S22.

  3. You mentioned the ability to navigate win 3rd party apps, but Komoot and Google maps requires a connection to a phone to navigate. Does the 5 Pro let it use navigation without the phone?

  4. I do a HIIT workout on a treadmill.
It consists of a warmup, the workout, and the cool down.
The workout has 8 segments of 2 minutes each with 30 seconds running at 7.6 mph with 90 seconds of walking at 2.5 mph.
Is there a fitness tracking watch that can contend with that?
I'd like to add jumping rope to this routine with 8 segments of 30 seconds of speed jump roping and 90 seconds of rest. Can any fitness tracking watch deal with that?

  5. Rotating Bazel accumulates and pull microfiber of clothes and dust particles. It is difficult to clean the watch because of the rotating Bazel .

  6. Big mistake with Samsung watch active 2 , simply outdated before Updated! Bought in 2019 still unable to measure spo2 as in NOT enabled in 3 years, still unable to use NFC payments in Ireland EU coz Samsung failed! Never ever Samsung again!

  7. Definitely going to get either the watch 5 or watch 5 pro, as I use the S22 Ultra as my phone. Was an iPhone 12 Pro user and series 6 watch, changed my provider for work and personal use.
Thanks for the video, enjoyed it and I will decide but if anyone can help Iโ€™d be grateful. ๐Ÿ™

  8. i use the have a watch active 2 when it first came out and before that i had the galaxy watch 3 as well might go for the 44mm watch 5 regular

  9. Great video. I have a question on battery issue. I wonder if the extra battery capacity of the Pro is so important. I would think it might be easier to remember to charge every day rather than every other day. On the other hand, if you want to analyze your sleep pattern, etc., you can't charge while sleeping. I am learning toward 5 because it is more like a size of normal watch. Should I wait for another generation of the watch, hoping that that might have more battery capacity?

  10. I think they dont need to mention about the water resistant because before this my old galaxy watch active 2 got damage by water and also make me feel angry bc cannot claim warranty๐Ÿ˜” so pissed off๐Ÿ˜ซ then i think galaxy watch 4 or 5 etc i'm will never ever soak in water again or use when swimming๐Ÿ˜†๐Ÿ˜ก๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธโœŒ๐Ÿผโค๏ธ PS: idk man different people maybe they had different usages๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ

  11. I'm not rich but I don't get what all the fuss is about. $170 is literally three dinners out. Three dinners that you poop out 12 hours after you eat it. Get a grip. Think of what you would spend $170 on that truly is not worth it that's here today gone tomorrow.

  12. Thanks, very informative video, I came here after comparing them on Samsung website to figure out better if there was any other differences than the battery. I will probably go with the Watch 5 44mm ๐Ÿ‘

  13. Does this watch notify your emergency contacts if you fall and notify you if you have an abnormal heart reading like the Apple Watch?

  14. For Americans, getting the Pro avoids you having to pronounce the word aluminium. ๐Ÿ™‚

  15. No not happy they are too snap. Need 46 or 48. Not chunky at all. They look much better in men sizes. But lil bit wrist

  16. I just got the Galaxy 5! I was going for the 5 Pro but once I tried it on it was very bulky and basically uncomfortable for me.

  17. It came down to size for me… I have smaller wrists and the 5 Pro and 44mm 5 (regular) are just too big to fit properly and I feel the band would always be loose. I went with the 40mm Watch 5, knowing it lacked a few features of the 5 Pro (I don't think I'll ever need) and has the smallest battery of them all. Hopefully my daily routine of charging my watch each morning for about 30-40 minutes as I shower and get ready for the day is more than plenty to keep it going until the next, even with heavy use. A few adjustments to save power by disabling unused features will also come in handy.

For $160 with the current special and trade-in rebate, it was time to upgrade.

  18. I got the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 bundled with my contact. Tip… Turn the vibration off. That drains the battery and makes it last 12h.

  19. "The differences are slightly different than you might expect." WHAT???
