  1. Could someone explain the physics of the pink and black? How could the pink goes in and the black goes along the cushion?

  2. Big Arrow in the Thumbnail, Caps Lock and Emojis in the Title. Thats Schoolbook Clickbait

  3. That's all he could do; hit it and see what happens. I recommend skipping the rest of the boring video and save half an hour.

  4. Like how they were bpth having a chuckle after Neil left the blue over the yellow pocket. Well done Joe, for that amazing pot on the pink. Physics defied.

  5. Who is the co-commentator? Phil Yates keeps calling him "Stephen" but it sounded like Shaun Murphy to me

  6. Why do more and more people add the "You won't believe…." to the title? Click bait at its worst. Of course I'll believe it. I can see it in the video… Stop overselling stuff.

  7. Some social media intern at Matchroom decided that video titles should go full clickbait now.

  8. I will save you 35 minutes:
Perry managed to pot the pink and move the black at the same time at 34:50

  9. I actually had a shot like this come up in traditional 8-ball, where the 8 seemed to be lodged deep in the pocket, and one of my stripes was just the other side of it. Even I didn't think it was possible, but I just thought to myself, "If I go out on this shot because I sank the 8-ball early, I go out on my own terms." And I just blasted my stripe in, and the 8 shot out and away from the pocket. Had at least 10 people in the pool hall all watching that shot, and they all cheered and high-fived me for that one.

Because the rails are a little softer on a snooker table than a normal billiards/pool table, there's more compression of the rails that occurs when you're firing into a cushion, particularly around the pocket points/"jaws".
You have to blast it in hard so the cushion compresses to maximum, then the ball you're shooting at will ricochet off the back of the "blocker" ball, into the pocket, sending the blocker out and away from the pocket. It's a fantastic little trick if you know how to use cushion compression to your advantage.
Edit: If Joe was also using backspin to "push" the pink in, that also helps a little. But you can play it plain ball, follow, any type of shot really. At that point, you're just looking to make the ball you're on and don't worry about controlling where the blocker goes.
Edit 2: The way that Joe was firing at it, he actually forced the pink, hard enough into the blocker, to compress into the rail enough, to give the pink enough room to pass into the pocket on the other side. Nice positional shot from the blue to get as close to the pink as possible to fire it in like that.
