Pool Practice Drill #21 | 4 Ball Half Table Pattern Play | PoolPracticeTracker

Pool Practice Drill #21 is 4-Ball Half-Table Pattern Play with No Side Spin

Click this link to get the table diagram for this drill, then use the diagram to place the object ball and cue ball. http://poolpracticetracker.com/home/drills/drill_details.php?drill_id=21

Throw four balls out onto the table, keeping all four balls on one half of the table. Make sure none of the balls are tied up.

The aim of this drill is to learn to control the cue ball by using the cue ball’s natural path after contacting an object ball, as well as to learn to plan several shots ahead.

Start with Ball In Hand. For this drill, you must keep the cue ball on one half of the table. You may not use side-spin, but you may use draw or follow. You may shoot balls into the corner pockets on the opposite side of the table, but the cue ball must always stay on one half of the table.

You will shoot the balls in rotation, but you must call each pocket before starting. By calling each shot, you will have a plan for how you will run out the table.

If you can consistently make 6 runouts out of 10, then a recommended follow-up drill is Drill #22: http://poolpracticetracker.com/home/drills/drill_details.php?drill_id=22

  1. This type of half table pattern play is something Tor Lowry really stresses. I do the same drills and it has helped me a lot. It makes you really think about things, execute your plan, and helps you with speed control. Excellent drill.
