Colin Cowherd reacts to KD’s strong debut, then explains how he is similar to Patrick Mahomes, who can play with anyone and anything. The Los Angeles Lakers managed to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 123-117 without LeBron James, D’Angelo Russell and Anthony Davis. Sports is too saturated. The NBA should be cut to 70 games or so. That would eliminate rest days. And baseball should be cut back to around 125, 135. The games will mean more. But greed always gets in the way.

You can't really compare KD and Mahomes in any context. The metaphor is so flawed that it completely overlooks KD's entire Nets tenure. He is the type of player who can play with anybody. But that's because he's one of the greatest off-ball players we've ever seen, not because of his ability to change his gamr. He obviously can't win with anybody, because despite only ever having played on a super team, he failed to be the engine in Brooklyn. He's more like nitrous. His impact is undeniable, but it doesnt even matter if its not a fast car to begin with; because alone, its not enough to win.
Also, stop blaming Westbrook. Russ has made the playoffs more than KD has, and Russ went to a small market team. KD has made sure he always had at least 1 other star to carry the weight.
