I think the leafs need to give Woll a real chance, 3 of his last 5 games he has put up over .960 sv %, the other being .900% and roughly .850% While the .850 doesn't look great, he has shown consistency
Leafs actually 'looked' bigger, tougher, and more experienced. and just as big Matthews gives space to Nylander, Nylander and Marner were free to toy with Flames in 3rd.
Leafs’ defencemen (all over 6-feet tall) leaders in points and plus/minus: Reilly (but minus), Gustafson, Schenn, Giordano, McCabe, Timmins = 6 players, all have top-pairing stats, 64th/ 32 = 2.0), and of course Brodie and Holl play tougher minutes than Liljegren. Could you tell tonight, even in their first game?
This time Markström have had done very well. And with the Iron shots,weve was very unfortunate. But nevertheless: The Flames wasnt this year an Playoff Team: To weak overall. Offense,defense, Goalie, and, that was the important thing. From the mind. We lose to much from the narrow games.
I was a bit surprised how bad the Leafs looked in the 1st P ! They contuisly allowed the Flames to get by on the right side and eventually, it resulted in a goal ! The Leafs look like a much slower team now ! However, we need to take in account This was a back to back game and the Leafs were probably tired ! But that is NOT an excuse they had a lot of these new guys that had not played in a few days. Who were on the road and rested ! It worries me that the Leafs are so SLOW . Mike.

That 1st Calgary goal, Gustafson got caught. You are gonna see a lot of that because he’s an offensive defenceman. He needs to be paired up with a stay home defender who understands the assignment!
Markstrom still came out the second best goalie in the game as usual….looked terrible on the two goals …otherwise he played good just not good enough again

Flames are disappointing always just enough weakness somewhere to lose. To me getting beat consistently by inferior teams was a tell all season.

Great atmosphere, high quality hockey. Can't wait to be back in Calgary for another great Leafs/Flames game.
Markstrom played and looked like a boss. His set up was fire (pun intended). That said, Toronto got off with a fluke goal, IMHO.
