  1. “Stock up on contact pitchers”, no thanks, I prefer to win my league not finish middle of the pack

  2. Do the opposite of your league, everyone fading sps, I will load up first 4 out 5 rds on sps, then go hitters until rd 15. That's how u gain an advantage.

  3. Reasons I'll draft Degrom: 1) I always do, because my league is a little light on league winner type participants, and it's just fun. 2) he's away from the Mets

  4. Frank disappeared for awhile, early on, due to a technical problem; the other two got into an excellent exchange regarding drafting strategy; Frank suddenly reappears, makes no effort to find out where the other two are in their exchange, and immediately starts talking about something else. What a waste.

  5. I drafted Jacob degrom in a standard 5×5 roto by accident. I just traded degrom and Lars nootbar for Randy Arozerana and Freddy Peralta. I am very happy with that.

  6. Scott how dare you speak poorly about Jeffrey Springs lol (at least in terms of his on field performance)

  7. Which shld be my last pitcher 5×5 league Steele, gray, mahle, flaherty, painter, syndegard and do we trust Eduardo Rodriguez also shld I not have drafted Grayson Rodriguez shld I trade him

  8. I love this statcast era for pitching we have so much data and w older guys being able to stay in league and do great

  9. Dylan Cease's age 26 season BB/9 was 3.82, Nolan Ryan's age 26th season was 4.47 and was 5.46 in his age 27 season. Dylan Cease and his value is not going down based on his walk rate. You stat nerds are stupid. And if you're going to say "oh that was a different era" fine.. But it's to point out that pitchers can control how the pitch and perhaps consider all of Cease's other stats says Cease is better than what you're all claiming based on solely 'Walks'.

  10. I think nitpicking over these top guys matters not at all what is important is finding the lower ranked guys who will take a leap forward or determining which young guys that we don't have the data on to take . Jeez burnes Verlander scherzer who cares just pick your fav and move on

  11. I'm sorry but I am not taking a 40 year old Verlander who was hurt a year or 2 ago over a 28 year old burns. It's only a matter of time before Verlander loses it

  12. The "great filter" anology was perfect. Seriously spot on- kind of changes my entire outlook on pitching and age.

  13. The Fantasy Baseball Today multiverse has begun (12:57). The world now has TWO Franks!!! Frankie the Conqueror!!!

  14. I wonder if Scott’s wait til round 7 for SPs strategy is ok for Roto too? The latest I’ve waited is round 6 and Double tapped Fried and Javier. I’d expect they’d be gone in round 7

  15. I waited till the last pick of round 10 and then took 6 pitchers with my next 7 picks. 4 straight then a catcher. Snell, Gonsilin, Morton, May, Grayson Rodriquez, Lance McCullers

  16. My strategy is to wait until at least Round 4 when Nola or Bieber are usually available. Perfectly fine.
    One draft I went 3 offense, 2 SPs, 2 offense, 1 RP, 1 SP.

  17. Nola is not that much "lighter" than Cole and comes at a cheaper price. His WHIP is great.
Scott's analysis here is very solid. Wait for Verlander, Nola, Scherzer, Bieber, etc. and get offense. I'm not going 7 rounds but at least 3. First draft I got Tucker, Freeman, Arenado then Nola, Bieber drafting out of the last spot in a 10 team.

  18. A tough listen. Way too much rambling. Frank, great job of reeling the guys back in. That being said, there was some insightful analysis from all; just way too wordy. I tried… but I could only listen till 1 hr 20 ish to get to Carlos Rodon, & Matty S. Obviously…. I couldn’t wait for Martin Peréz! Brutal boys.
