Mario Cristobal is making changes and the latest one could be huge.
Shannon Dawson is the Miami Hurricanes’ new offensive coordinator and it’s a major pivot from Cristobal’s traditional way of thinking.
On a new episode of Eye on the U podcast, David Wilson and Susan Miller Degnan, the Miami Herald’s Hurricanes beat writer, break down the hire and what to expect from Dawson, who has typically run an air raid offense in his previous stops.

Power Raid 🙌
I am just hoping this is an indication that the stafff has looked at who is on the roster, and made the assessment of the best "scheme" to maximize the level of kids being brought in.
WARNING: This is not an interview. It's a completely off-the-cuff conversation between a pro and a skilled amateur. (Guess who's who.)
Interesting points made, particularly around recruiting and the lack of Power-5 experience on Dawson's part. The "happier" the offense is, the better they perform, n'est-ce pas Ms. Degnan? Rhett Lashlee's offensive backs played well, very productive on the ground at UM, remember? Who cares if the guy didn't come from Ohio State or Alabama? He's been great at upgrading the offense at very stop he's made so far. He's good with quarterbacks, unlike Mario Cristobal and Josh Gattis. The thing is, will Cristobal and Mirabal recruit in the same old mold, forcing Dawson to change schemes to fit the OL, or will they recruit guys who fit that "Power Raid" scheme?
If this coach is good some school will come and take this coach. College football as a whole doesn’t want Miami to be good again. GO CANES
David, please learn to not interrupt Susan.
Please 🙌
The dumster fire continues!
