Welcome to Battle at the Beach – if you’re not familiar with this golf event and the events that Steez and Tees puts on, I hope that this gives you an inside look at some of the coolest events going on in the golf industry. Battle at the Beach is a Steez & Tees event put on by Bryan and Mel held at Hammock Beach Resort in Palm Coast, Florida, about an hour south of Jacksonville. This event is a two-man event consisting of 3 rounds, each with their own format. The first round is best ball, the second is modified alternate shot and the final round is a scramble. The tournament was organized in four pods based upon handicaps and the winning team from each pod entered into the shootout. The shootout is a true alternate shot played on hole 18 until one out of the four teams wins. A cool feature of this tournament is that the winners gained entrance into an end of the year event held at Victoria National Golf Club in Indiana, including free golf and lodging. This was my second true golf social media event, as I found out about this through Instagram and had the opportunity to meet and play with many people whom I had previously connected with through social media, including my partner Jake Evans (JevansGolf). Jake and I had a blast playing together in this tournament and created a few course vlogs playing the Ocean Course at Hammock Beach:
