  1. hey man i’m sure you get messages like this all the time but the easiest way to lose weight is walk more and eat less! so if you just walk when you play golf and keep calories down it will melt off! you seem like a good guy hope things are going well for you

  2. Welcome back. If it's not marked OB or ground under repair, you can take an unplayable lie with 1 stroke penalty….or the foot wedge.

  3. Really digging your channel brother! Been watching all the older vlogs and I can totally relate! Just got back into golf after a near 25 year break. I've been hitting it hard for about 2 months and I'm currently 26.3 handicap. My goal is to shoot reliably in the 90's and improve my ball striking and putting and get to a real 20 handicap by the end of the summer. Keep up the great work John!

  4. Man love seeing the driver going far and honestly, if you two putt every hole you shoot like a 40/41 on that 9. Looked really solid!

  5. Great to see you back! Your distance and accuracy has improved. improving your chipping and putting (reading greens) will save you a ton of strokes. You should be able to break 85 now 🙂

  6. Dude solid ..scratch that 1st hole and work on getting that 1st putt to the hole ..ALICE..but good job

  7. So glad you’re back!!! You’re playing so well. Seeing you first few videos where you were praying to get one par, and you’re entire game is getting better. KEEP IT UP JOHN!!!!

  8. First time watching and I have an opinion about playing the tips versus not. Your logic is that it's a short course, but that is flawed logic in my opinion…let me explain. Lets' say you are playing with better golfers who drive the ball a lot further. So they already have an advantage due to that extra distance. If the course is short, it only increases that advantage since they will get shorter approach shots to the greens on a lot of holes. If you play the same tees you give away that same advantage you would have had, had you played a shorter tee. As a senior golfer I play the gold tees, or one down from the normal (white ) tee, regardless of the length. That way if I make a good drive, I get rewarded for it. The game is hard enough, don't let your ego keep you from enjoying the game by playing the tees appropriate to your handicap regardless of the distance. Anyway, enjoyed the video and look forward to more.

As for the ruling when you were in the rocky area, I think if falls under 16.1 Abnormal Course Conditions (Including Immovable Obstructions) Section a: Relief Allowed point #1 – Your ball touches or is in or on an abnormal course condition.

IMO it fell under this rule and you get free relief of one club length or the closet spot that offers relief that is not closer to the hole. So you did fine and could have even taken better relief because you obviously still hit some rocks when you took your shot.

  9. So glad you’re back man! Nice to see all those birdie looks. Dial in the short game a little and you’ll shave 10 strokes like nothing.

  10. yeah technically you dont get relief since it isn't marked GUR. you could take an unplayable but doubt you even get anywhere better. we aren't playing a tour event though, just give yourself a decent lie where you won't hurt yourself or your clubs! keep it up!

  11. john, pls in press your feet on the putts to give yourself a more stable base to rock the shoulders, esp on the long putts. slightly better lag putting can shave so many strokes from your game

  12. Hey John – You're an inspiration to us fellow fat guy golfers. You have good arm extension on the driver follow-thru. My belly gets in the way of doing that even though you've got 125lbs on me. You have a move that most of us don't have to not let the belly weight slow down the swing. If you can post a swingvision of yourself, say at 120fps, face on and down the line, that would be instructional.

  13. Drop the ball over by the cart path no closer to the hole where the rough is if there are rocks everywhere on your side.

  14. I DID miss ya! I played my first round in years because of watching your videos. You showed me that 1) Big guys can still play and have fun and 2) It's okay to shoot bogey golf and don't panic about a bogey or double bogey, just move on. So I ended up shooting +8 on 9 holes. My best score ever. 🙂
