I still really, really struggle with making my club contact the turf. Too much of the time, I seem to either either pass over the turf or thump the turf well behind the ball. I think I just need more practice with that lower body movement toward the target as the backswing is ending. You make it look easy. I make it look impossible. We all have our roles to play in this world, I guess!

It does take some work to touch the ground just slightly before the ball. Lots of practice. I play ball ahead of the middle. I play with lots of hybrids and woods. Fortunately I have the set up down pat now and am doing well with it. Good teaching Allie.

great teaching ali , i figured this out years ago but i tried to sweep it for a decade before . totally changed my perception and confidence when hitting hybrids and fairway woods.
Thanks for the good advice, but does this still work if you are not providing the loft to the ball at the point of impact? I have been told that my 19 degree hybrid is only producing 9 degrees at impact, resulting in all my shots to be low and they also go left dramatically. When I have had a lesson I did get advised to open the club face but it seems weird having it point off at a 20 degree angle to the right?
