Do Masters volunteers get a free round at Augusta?

Have any of you ever applied/volunteered for a job during Masters Week? If so were you given a free round? This article from golf.com says you’ll be invited back to play but I haven’t found other confirmation (https://golf.com/news/augusta-national-masters-how-you-can-play/?amp=1)

    Yes.

I have not volunteered, but one of my closest friends has been a volunteer for about 12 years now. Volunteers do get to play every year that they volunteer. It’s typically in May I believe. My friend is not a great golfer, probably mid 20s handicap, but he’ll tell anyone who will listen about how he birdied #8 at ANGC.

Not at the masters, but at a Canadian PGA event on the McKenzie tour. The volunteers had a volunteer dinner and prizes were given out. A round of gold was one of the prizes. I won it two years in a row. It was for Uplands in Victoria BC.

I hope that Augusta would so something similar.

  3. I’ve heard/read this as well but also heard/read that there is a long wait list for volunteers too. Thought about pursuing the volunteer angle in hopes I make it to top of the wait list by the time I retire.
