I wonder if you can just get a jacket made that is a close accurate replica of that era? I'm not sure how much that would cost but there's bound to be a good seamstress up for the challenge that wouldn't charge you an arm and a leg. There's ones that do civil war era replicas that don't cost a fortune.

The first B&W photo looked like plus 8's.
Great video. Tweed jacket (depending on season), with long canvas pants; shirt, tie and vest (in a variety of colours) pocket watch and chain and tweed flat cap, or waxed cotten cap if it think it's going to rain (all from vintage clothes shops or ebay etc). Single colour brown FJ shoes. Breeks/knickers and knee socks for a bit of variety. Good advice for an extra size for freedom of movement.
I found a brand called Con.Struct that makes really nice athletic style button up shirts. it's pricier more than other shirts I have, but they are so much more comfortable and good for playing in.

Both Hagen and Sarazen dedicated several pages in their biographies to their sartorial style. It was very important–not so much today in which professional look the same. If fact, Tommy Armour's wife admonished Sarazen about his ill-fitting shirts. I appreciate your style. Thanks.
