The 2022 U.S. Open is set to begin on Thursday in Brookline, Massachusetts, with a number of star-studded groupings set to take the course at The Country Club. Hot off his second PGA Tour victory of the season and 21st win overall, new favorite Rory McIlroy will look to get off on the right foot just as he did at the 2022 PGA Championship.

The Northern Irishman commanded the first-round lead at Southern Hills after firing a 5-under 65 and will kick off his U.S. Open at 7:40 a.m.ET alongside Hideki Matsuyama and Xander Schauffele. This trio is one of a few notable groupings off in the morning hours at The Country Club.

  1. Not sure why people are so critical of Phil wanting a change of scenery. IDK how much he's concerned about his legacy and what the media thinks.

  2. LP reacted d ryt way, she is Sexinlocall.UNO need of over drama, or over consider ations. She don't deserve *considerationsi. Lp പറഞ്ഞ പോലെ,, ജീവിതം തുടങ്ങിയല്ലേ ഉള്ളു, പഠിക്കട്ടെ.

  3. Aren't LIV players exempt from playing on the PGA tour? How are some of the LIV players able to play in the US Open?

  4. LIV golf is a washed up league for B tier has beens, let's be honest it will be gone in a few years when nobody follows it lol it's a joke their format isn't even golf

  5. Considering how much more the greens are protected than recent US Opens, bomb and gauge is not an optimal strat. When Bryson won, you could run the ball up to most greens if playing from the rough. This week not so much

  6. I cant wait for the golf to actually began on Thursday. There will be wall to wall coverage on USA, NBC, and Peacock from sunup to sundown. I think Thursday Morning/Friday Afternoon may be the better of the draws with the weather on Friday. Looking forward to First cut on the road. Depending on where they do it from, there are great backshots of the clubhouse especially on Live from on Golf Channel. LIV Golf has Defentely overshadow Brookline in the buildup. Especially in the media room. This is my 2nd favorite week in the entire Golf Season. The British Open is first for me. When I saw Bryson's interview with Todd Lewis last night on Live from the US Open I thought this was so rehearsed. It got me wondering was Bryson on ice cause secretly while pledging his alligance to the PGA Tour he was talking to LIV Golf.

I love everybody picks this week. Coach has funny reactions when Rick reveals who we picked. I like Will this week (I voted for DJ). Will took JT to the limit in the playoffs at PGA. Given the prize purse hasnt changed for the 3rd straight year at PGA (First is still 2.25 and 2nd is still 1.362 m), Mark wont lose the lead at all if Will misses the cut and Coach and Jacob make up Ground.

  7. Honestly I thought Rick and Sia’s tone at the beginning of the show about LIV was shallow, unprofessional, rude, and impudent. Stating that people don’t want to hear you talk about LIV, and saying you’re gonna talk about it anyway makes you look pretentious and entitled. Maybe you should take a step back and look in the mirror. Brooks tried to stand up for the players today, and you are talking with a tone that sides against him. Who are you to talk like that? For real. Glad you take yourself serious, because soon that’s all you’ll have left. It comes off like a middle schooler trying to walk the walk of a phd student. I made it 4 minutes into the video before turning off. Lose the entitlement fellas, you are nobody’s. Your opinion is not more important or valid than the sport’s mass viewership just because you make YouTube videos and are employed by CBS.

  8. I love your show and listening to everyone's opinions, and also respect everyons opinions but some things to think about especially for coach a PGA employee. Why is it Phil's job or any other players job to grow the game? Isn't that mostly the PGA's job to do so. Just like in any other professional sport, the onus is on the league? That doesn't mean the the individual players don't have the their own foundations, functions, and charities that give back to the communities on their behalf. Then coach talks about the LIV players are going to play insignificant golf being fat and taking money…well isn't that also the PGA Seniors tour? So I guess most of these golfers will get to that point eventually. Again most people are assuming that this ban is a lifetime ban, and it's not because there is no timetable and any ban can at any time be lifted based on many factors in the future. It has only been 1 week of play and many more players will go,that is a guarantee bc of the GUARANTEED MONEY. These players can still play elsewhere on top of the money on the Liv tour. 4 million was the winners pay compared to 1.2 million for the Canadian open. Meaning 1 win equals 3 1/2 wins as a pay day on the PGA. And if there are less players, isn't it easier or more likely the better players will win on the LIV tour more often and make even more money? The fact is that most PGA players don't have a legacy so moving to LIV is a better financial decision. And that's why you see Tiger, Rory, Speith,Rahm who have a growing legacy, show continued support for the PGA. On top of all of that, if it is decided going forward, that all Majors are excluded from the ban you will see a larger influx of players going over to the LIV tour for certain. Why did Brooks say in his conference that its only been one week and he hasn't thought about it? What I believe what he is really saying is that he is waiting on the ruling of majors to make his decision and cashing his 100,000,000 check to the LIV tour. Good show guys and thanks for the content.

  9. I watched a lot of the LIV and enjoyed the coverage. So, Coach suggesting nobody watched is wrong. The announcers were extremely good because I didn’t have to listen to announcers making sure people remember THEIR name more than the players.
I came to this to listen to US Open discussion, certainly not Coach on his soap box spouting PGA Tour lines. Normally, I listen to every one of these, but I’m done with this one. Maybe next week will be better.

  10. "one of the main announcers for the PGA tour" This show is so good, but Coach's arrogance is so hard to listen to.

  11. I tried listening to this, what a load of crap. Just gossip, opinion and nothing based on fact. Jeez, they even have a guy who keeps saying he used to work for a wrestling show, and he's proud of it…….Think about that.

  12. All I’m hearing here is scared comments about how great the pga is here. Taking jabs is not being a good leader, it’s childish.

  13. I'm putting my chips on Matthew Fitzpatrick and Sungjae Im⛳
    Sleeper- Aaron Wise

    2022 US Open

  14. Is this the same "coach" from those terrible espn sportnation shows from a decade ago. Spin clock until the next commercial. Dude then becomes an expert for the wwe, now I supposed to be believe this guy cares or knows anything about golf? Does he not realize first cut is not a first take spinoff? No need to yell or use hands to spin clock. And no, people dont need stars to like something. Coach was placed on this CBS pod to corral a certain demographic of social media followers to follow his gambling picks for some booking company named sportsline?

  15. FIRE SIA AND FIRE COACH WE NEED PEOPLE WHO KNOW THE GAME. It’s like watching a different show with these two on. I’m sorry to be mean but they are clearly 3 steps below Rick, Kyle, Greg, and Mark. There are plenty of good analysts out there you should find them. Even Andy lack and the other kid are better.
