“I wish someone showed me how to grip the golf club like this when I first started playing golf”, “I didn’t think I would actually swing the golf club so much better after putting my glove there” “I wish I knew about this grip trick years ago”.
This is just some of the comments that new clients say to me when I show them this trick with the golf glove. This really does illustrate to you all about how to grip the golf club, where you can go wrong, why golfers go wrong and how to stop it! This grip trick will make the golf swing so much easier!
These are golf swing basics. This is a simple golf lesson that will help you to strike your irons pure, hit your driver on the up. Hit your driver straight, grip the golf club so much better and play better golf!

I think I have a pretty good consistent grip with my left hand (my glove hand), but I find my RIGHT HAND occasionally will slip into a stronger grip too, where the “V” of thumb & forefinger starts pointing to outside my right shoulder 🤷🏼♂️
Is this bad?
I then think the hands are complimenting themselves (both strong), and when I grip with the right hand more ON TOP, the hands feel like they’re fighting each other.
Can the right hand be a stronger grip as well?
Bionic
Titleist Players glove as long as I can remember. The thinnest best fitting glove I can find. But yeah I do wear it in the pad of my hand. Probably lasts maybe 7-10 rounds before a hole appears.
I haven't worn a glove for the last 5 years. I have better control and feel of my swing. Plus, it's one less thing to buy. But everyone is different.
Alex. What are your thoughts on a ten finger grip. My right pinkie was getting painful so I switched. Still play a neutral grip. Definitely place the club in my fingers. Maybe you could do a video so we can see a pro playing both grips and the differences in club speed and ball flight if there are any.
Great video Alex on what causes gloves to prematurely wear out! I have always used cabretta leather gloves; however, I used to wear the gloves out in the areas you described. As the video indicated, this probably was caused by movement of the handle in my glove hand by a dominant right hand. Now, I try to have equal pressure in both hands on the handle and the problem seems to have been rectified. Great information Alex! Keep them coming!!
Any drills to stop left thumb hurting for a right handed golfer or causes as to why.
Love the videos Alex.
Question… my swing path seems to be in to out (obstacles to the right of my ball to prevent me coming over the top) but seem to hit high off the face and off centre both right and left.
I have tried synthetic gloves, which are usually cheaper than cabretta leather gloves, but I prefer the real leather. The Costco Kirkland Signature gloves are a steal! Aside from regripping on the downswing, a grip that is too loose also will cause there to be less force on the ball at impact. You have to experiment with grip pressure to see what works best for you. One person's 6 (1 to 10 scale) may be another person's 2. A pro who has hit thousands and thousands of balls may not think they are putting much pressure on the grip, but they probably are better at maintaining constant pressure and not regripping.
I have synthetic and leather and use both depending on conditions. My hand is kind of between sizes and it seems that synthetic hold their size better and have less issues with sunscreen and sweat but I have a better feel with leather
Great tip. Only one i have seen regarding letting go at the top and a drill to follow. Great stuff. Thanks
I was going through at least 1 glove a month before I watched your video, thanks!! I mostly wear rain gloves due to high humidity
Hey Alex, I’m having trouble understanding how far I need to stand from the ball with my clubs and it is quiet annoying
Well done alex 👏 👍
Great tip Alex. I stopped wearing gloves some years ago as I was ruining them too quickly with regripping. Now I understand why and how to stop it I might buy a new one. Leather or synthetic?🤔 Leather or synthetic
